Thoughts? My sentiments exactly. Although, I have to say that the rotation should be subject to change. For example, I wouldn't mind seeing us go big more often. Why can't we play Yao & Cato at the same time? Why can't we play Griffin at the 3??? In the 8 man rotation you suggested, it seems Griffin would play the 3 when MoT's in the line-up (big ball), and Griffin could play the 4 with Posey playing the 3 in the defensive line up. And please, let's abandon the small ball.
Mobley was drafted in the 2nd round, which means that teams saw limitations to his game: he's smaller than most 2 guards, his shot is very streaky. His quickness to the bucket is a plus on drives, but he's a black hole, he doesn't like to pass. In other words, you are only gonna get some much quality pt from Cuttino. Perhaps he should be traded, or the Rox should try to acquire a better 2 guard and bring Mobley in as a 6th man.
For Cat's sake, just thought I'd point out the first Robin (Dick Greyson) went on to become his own secret hero: Nightwing. So, maybe Fran needs to write an article about Batman (Francis), Robin (Yao), and Nightwing (Cat). Nightwing wouldn't miss a shot from 10 feet with the clock running out...
It has to do with Francis. He's not interacting with everyone, true, but this all started when Yao Ming started getting mroe involved in the offense, and that started since the game before the Cleveland game. Is it acurrate to say that Mobley has been like this for 3 or 4 games? It's a combination of not being the 2nd option, not being the coach's second favourite player, not being Franchise's best friend, and being told all this. But Mobley will adjust. he always always does. He'll adjust as much as humanly possible.
Sane: You still think Francis is going to be Batman? Oh goodness... you're behind the times, my boy .
It's not about Batman and Robin. It's not about Number One and Number Two. It's about Number One & Two. You know what I mean? Obviously, Yao Ming is the big man, and Francis has embraced him as the main cog and the future franchise player of the team. But Mobley is no longer what keeps the Rockets competitive. We don't lose 30% of our production with Mobley, like the past 2 seasons. He's not OUR friend, he's MY friend (Re: Donnie Brasco).
I haven't read all of this thread or watched all 48 minutes of the past few Rockets games, but the time I have seen with Mobley on the court, especially tonight and last night, he has looked better defensively and gotten teammates involved and created more than I've seen him try to do throughout the season. While it is only a few games, it is refreshing.
I don't care what it is, the CAT better wake up... He is capable of getting his shots once they give Yao the ball... Yao is just a rook and from China and he has a lot of respect for the veterans on this team...That's why you see him dish sometimes when he should shoot...
