I hope not. I like Mobley. Like the other poster said, it would be best if he's to evolve his role like Michael Finley.
I don't want Mobley to be traded but if he is on the way out I would try to get Michael Redd in his place.
Did he log the most minutes, 45, compare to Francis' 43 & Yao's 40? Given the FG % the Jazz had, I doubt any seriousdefense has been played. Then, it must be a trade in the making. You just don't leave a guy out there that long when he had a bad night.
I think that the answer is in Rudy's call in show. A caller asked about Mobley and his questionable shot selection, and Rudy basically said they are working on that now. My guess is that Cat has no idea how he fits in. Rudy is a terrible communicator about roles etc, he prefers that players find their own way. Sometimes that backfires....Cat is too good of a player, and too sure of himself to let it keep him down for long. My guess is that he has a big game tomorrow...even though I think we still lose to the Jazz. It is simply a matter of jumpshots vs going to the hole and getting fouled. Utah plays smarter, and the Rockets fall into the trap every time. The Rocks have zero clue at the end of games, and their coach does not help them much by his lack of creative play design, or substituting offense for defense. The Rocks are looking like they are in for a season ending spiral. DD
he's an unmotivated employee because he's not an idiot, he knows the rumors about him being traded. Think about it, if you constantly hear people whisper that you're gonna get laid off or relocated forecefully to some far off region away form your home, wouldnt you also be kind of feeling low or unmotivated at work? It happened to me when I found out they were gonna off my whole department, nothing got done for a month, I barely even showed up for work! LOL
Well, sulking isn't going to help Cat's case but it looks like that's exactly what he is doing now. Jeff is right that Cat hasn't been himself for quite a while now. I think Rox management needs to make up their mind quickly and go ahead with the trade before Cat's trade value goes down the drain.
i assume that Rudy should be able to notice this too... so why he kept mobley on the court for 45 minutes? longer than everyone else?
I think he makes just a little under 5 mil and didn't the Raps offer him more money to play for them? But he chose to stay with the Rox. I remember the BBS being really high on him for his "loyalty", but I bet with all the trade rumors flying around he probably wished he'd taken the money and left.
And to think that I am pulling all-nighters to get a freaking degree so that I can get a lousy 9 to 5 job that doesn't pay for Cat's entertainment expense.
I also think that Cat has seen that there is a new "robin" to Steve's Batman. I think this indicates that he's at least heard some of the trade rumors swirling around out there. The rockets organization has told him nothing I'm sure but chances are his agent has told him something, or better yet, he senses that his relationship with Francis will not necessarily keep him in a rockets uniform. This is all speculation though..he could just be in a little funk.
thatsa good one swooh. I remember Mobleyand Franics being compard to Batman and Robin in a couple of articls a year or two ago (though I believe it mockingly). Francis now has stated that he and yao can be Batman and Robin. Lok it's probably a combination of knowing hes about to leave the organization and realizing that Francis might not see him as a sidekick anymore. Millionaires have feelings too.
I have no clue how Rudy is going to 'train' 27 year old Cat how to make good decisions on the floor. There are other types of teams that would benefit from his skills far more than we do. We need a very strong decision maker at the 2, I'm just unsure that Cat is the guy for that role.
