link? he's working on it, its a bit complicated if you haven't paid attention yes, considering that's what he campaigned on link I'm not for prosecuting previous adminstration, and I don't think he ran on that anyway i think most people who voted for him were expecting different. so if you didn't vote for him why are you b****ing about stuff he supposedly promised and is not coming through on
did cnn criticize bush on wiretapping. seriously, I think this is more a left issue than you realize. most americans don't care about this issue
No, I have made several reasonably lengthy posts in this thread. I have said what I wanted to say here. I am not a big believer of re-typing the same points again and again, even if you guys repeatedly re-raise the same questions and repeatedly re-post the same assertions. If some new angle comes up on this issue that I regard as worthy of comment, I will post some more. Until then, I am probably done with this topic.
We're waiting for your evidence on the laughable assertion that Dick Cheney is the greatest Vice President in history.
Pretty sure he's going with this: It's an "only time will tell" scenario based on his opinion of the subject. It's on the first damn page. Not sure how you prove an opinion. Unless, of course, you're a conservative on this forum. Which means you're already wrong. Conservative on this BBS: "The sky is blue." Liberals on this BBS: "Link?" Conservative on this BBS: "Well....just look outside. Looks pretty blue to me." Liberals on this BBS: "This is only due to light refracting through water molecules in the atmosphere. The sky isn't actually blue." Conservative on this BBS: "...." Conservative on this BBS: "Well....it looks pretty damn blue to me. Don't have much else to say here." Liberals on this BBS: "See? HaHA. No-link-you're-wrong-I'm-right-nyah-nyah-nyah-win-/thread."
I discussed that in my previous posts in this thread. If you do not agree, that is fine with me. We can agree to disagree. You post what you want, and I will do likewise.
Fantastic post. That is completely truthful and correct. I have been going through this exercise on various topics for days now. Especially our discussions about anthropomorphic global warming (AGW). Sooner or later you just have to cut off the discussion and move on. Thanks for posting that.
link to what? im asking you a question...or were you unaware of the fact that obama expanded the warrentless wiretapping program? i cant believe i would need to actually prove something that was widely reported in the mainstream news, but here you go... now what did candidate obama say about warrantless wiretapping? your attempt at condescension is ironic considering the above. candidate obama promised to close it asap. i guess i need to link to these stories which were widely reported in the mainstream media for you, so again, here you go... dont most of his constituents want us out according to polls? i know alot of obama supporters and for some reason they were under the impression that nobel peace prize winning president obama would not have taken us further into there. again, this was all widely reported...are you really not aware of all this stuff??? sorry, i didnt realize that b/c i didnt vote for him i wasnt allowed to criticize. i never bought into what he was selling - all that 'hope and change' was nothing more than empty rhetoric. i never expected him to follow thru on all the stuff he was promising - if he had it would have made me a supporter, but he ended up being what i thought he would be...its pretty silly for you to say im not supposed to complain about something i saw coming from a mile away.
the problem is that you do not answer the questions in the first place. you pick out 1 or 2 things to argue and totally ignore the other 20 and when questioned on the other 20 you continually ignore and deflect. eerily, it was a tactic also employed by a poster named trader jorge.
You need to understand that I am not making myself available to be cross-examined by you guys. I will answer any questions that are posed to me in what I consider an appropriate manner. If it seems to me that I have answered a question sufficiently, then I have answered it. Your approval of my answers is neither requested nor required. If you have a problem with that, that is your problem. I expect that trader jorge felt the same way.
That's not true. US troops and civillians suffered many terrorist attacks following 9/11 around the world. Domestically the DC sniper shootings were terrorist attacks along with the anthrax mailings. Yes we didn't suffer another 9/11 but then again there wasn't another WTC attack after 1993 during the Clinton Admin..
Independent and Conservative are not mutually exclusive. One refers to party identification the other with ideology. If we are talking about the previous Admin. the Bush 41 Admin. wasn't very conservative when it came to things like spending, free trade and the growth of the Federal government.
Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth on what seems like a daily basis. I would think that the people who voted for him would be getting used to that by now.
Thanks for making my point, I could not have said it better myself. Obama, like most presidential candidates, said or hinted at one thing and did another, in that vain he is similar to all of his predecessors. So it is politics as usual from him, he is not the "Change" messiah we thought he was going to be.
From my perspective, I saw Obama open dialogue with Republicans, and watched the Republicans turn into the "Party of No", all about sabotaging Obama. I remember that joke of an alternate bailout plan. That, more than anything else, signaled to me that the inclusiveness wasn't going to work - that the Republicans in congress had decided that sabotaging Obama and refusing cooperation was the most expedient course. If I extend an open hand to you, and you punch me in the nose, I don't think anybody would blame me if I didn't keep offering you that open hand. It takes two to tango. What I saw, was Obama spending six months waiting for his dance partner to bother to show up. I appreciate that Republicans undoubtedly see it differently. But with regard to the "Change" inclusiveness mantra, from my perspective he definitely gave it a go. If the Republicans had been interested, it would have happened. I don't expect him to spend all four years of his term banging his head against a wall.
didnt our own government execute japanese commanders who authorized waterboarding of american pow's? "Following World War II war crime trials were convened. The Japanese were tried and convicted and hung for war crimes committed against American POWs. Among those charges for which they were convicted was waterboarding."
