    Hahahaha.

Now Robinson is a better player than Kidd too?

Having gone to school in the Phoenix area last year, I saw my fair share of Suns games, and will tell you that Robinson is good, but he is replaceable.

Kidd does have trouble in the half-court, relative to his fastbreak ability(which is the best in the league). That is one of the reasons his teams have struggled in the postseason, when the game slows down a lot from the regular season.

Secondly, I didn't say Robinson was better than Kidd, but he was their best defender and one of their more consistent scorers . . . and they got crap for him.

hmm, I never saw Pued say he was irreplaceable....:p
But you have to admit that they traded the best player by far in that deal and got nothing better than scrubs.

    It wasn't a good deal.

However, the biggest rip off was Kidd for Marbury.

Robinson is a good #3 option to have.

Kidd is a franchise player. Do the math.

    Marbury- 19.5 ppg, 8.2 assists, 1 steal, 3.1 rebs, 3.5 TOs
    Kidd- 14.1 ppg 10 assists 2.2 stl 7.4 rebs 3.4 TOs

I wouldn't call this a major ripoff... although I do admit the Nets got the better end of this deal. But you can't base the whole Nets season on one trade... KMart is playing great, KVH is playing better than ever, as is Kittles, and they also gain a huge surprise from getting Todd MacCulloch.

Do you know why those guys are playing well??? Kidd...

It's not just a coincedence that they all are having good years, when Kidd replaces Marbury.

Also, Martin isn't really that much better this year than last year.

He only grabs 5 rebounds a game, probably because Kidd is a better rebounder.

I don't think Steve is selfish enough.

As for taking over a game, watch the first Spurs game when Cuttino was out. I wish Steve did that every game. He was incredible.

Are you sure? I think Stevie could be a franchise player, but I want to see results. Kidd hasn't shown me anything YET, but maybe this is his year.

We don't know about Jefferson or Collins. Kidd is the only pro PG they've played with. Both of them aren't exactly tearing it up.

Kittles was at his best 4 years ago, pre-injury.

That being said, I think Kidd is a great player.

Steve doesn't neccesarily make other players that much better, but what he does do very effectively is draw the defense towards him which allows his teammates better opportunities. The reason we are so bad without Stevie is b/c teams no longer have to react to Stevie and can just concentrate on Cuttino or whoever else.

How is Kidd not a franchise player?

He has taken an abysmal franchise, to being the best team in the East (not a huge feat, but higher than the Nets have been since Doctor J).

I think you guys are not taking into account that Steve's effectiveness at making his teammates better is partly dependent on being on the court with them consistently. I don't the Rockets, in general, have been able to develop a flow with Steve being out so much. I think it says a lot about Steve that they were able to win 45 games last year.

Don't discount not having Mo, having a decent Olajuwon, a good backup PG in Moochie too.

Obviously, the missed games don't help. But, I don't think this year's team, if healthy, is as good as last year's.

Last year's team was able to get a lot of easy buckets compared to this year's team.
