We SUV owners must bound together and laugh at the mortals and their fuel efficient automobiles while we plow our way through the high Houston seas in order to make it home in time to watch our favorite Friends episode on channel 39.
Its REALLY bad here. I am at work right now on Kirby and 59 and it is a river here. The feeder of 59 is crazy flooded, same goes for Kirby, and Richmond is just bad, really bad. Hell my co-worker next to me had to leave his car on the feeder of 59 south at the Sheppard exit and walked all they way here. Crazy stuff. Thank god I do not leave here till 10pm, so hopefully it will balanced out by then.

Wow! My neighboorhood was just on the news, the rain is crazy and I didn't get flooded Alicia but some of my neighbors got 6ft!
Well I'm stuck at HP up near Tomball and have to get home to Midtown.... No clue how I'm going to do that. Good thing there's a Champps up here where I can catch the 2nd half of the Rockets game!!
They broadcasted that trucker rescue live all the way here in 'bama. And that **** of a storm is headed our way... Hourly Forecast for Tuesday, Nov. 18 6 AM......9 AM.....12 PM.....3 PM.....6 PM.....9 PM Tornados are vicious here.
Anybody else getting these wicked wind gusts in the past two hours? I'm on the SE/Clear Lake side of Houston, and I now have half of my neighbors yard items plus a bunch of his siding and patio cover laying on my roof and in my yard. What a nasty day.
Today we had torrential downpours here in Houston... my car got flooded. It was parked on the street behind my place of employment, the streets flooded and my car was in it.. I was able to get it out, but then it stopped working. I had water IN THE CAR up to the gearshift, center console. I drove it out of the street and onto the parking lot, where I proceeded to bucket out water from the floor boards. A lot of people at work got flooded out. My office mate and another girl in the next office had their cars flooded too... my office mate's car is way worse off and his car is paid off... Oh it sucks... I did call the insurance company right away, talked to the necessary people and the car will be taken to the dealership tomorrow for repairs, etc. I have a $500 deductable, so I got that covered, it's just .... ya know.. .my car.. ... my little baby... sigh... she doesn't even have 30,000 miles on her... she's a 2000 Civic Hatchback, she's soaked and not working... Tomorrow we will see what the insurance adjuster says and take it from there. The good thing is that the wife is in Las Vegas for 4 days, I have her 4-Runner and then I will either ride my bike to work or get a rental car. today sucked.
Wow I just drove down I-45 to get home. Probably saw 50 cars (no exaggeration) abandoned on the side of the freeway between the north beltway and downtown. I also saw some idiots trying to drive through the water in their pickups - and not getting anywhere. How many times do the news people have to tell viewers not to try to drive through high water. Some people are just not smart.
I stayed at work and played cards with some guys on campus before leaving around 7 even though classes were cancelled. I hit 45 north around 7:20 and it took my 1:40 minutes to get past the 249 exit. There were at least 35 cars stalled out at each exit until little york and then at little york there were at least 70 and at camino another 80. The kicker was 249 where there was over 100 all along the exit and entrance ramps. It was like a bad dream. I'm glad I waited to go home instead of waded to go home.
My car got flooded a little bit. Does anyone know much about cars? There's something draggin right under the engine bay and a high squealing noise. How much u think this is going to set me back by? I'm kinda scared its a gunna rip me a new one
I think he learned his lesson posting that "roving reporter" pic a few months ago. I left work early and rode the storm out at my folks place. When it let up, I drove back to my apartment in the Heights. As soon as I pulled in, it starting pouring again. The water is coming up into my landlords yard. I'm up here on the 2nd floor where it's safe. I don't have the emergency # to call for my job. I wonder if I should go to work tomorrow...
