    Larv,

He is indeed a ball hog, but a ball hog that is efficient is no longer a ball hog, he is a closer.

Rox can passed 1st round without a 23m-salaries player,

So i BELIEVE Rox can win a ring if Moorey give us a great trade!!!

    --Trade Nash from PHO and get Camby ,it would be sweet for us;

--Or Marion for YAO's backup, and Bibby,Miller or HenryQ for PG position.

McGrady, Dorsey and a 1st Rounder for Prince, Rip and Kwame Brown.

Do not resign Artest and pick up Mike Bibby from FA. Draft a big in the second round.

PG: Mike Bibby | Aaron Brooks | Kyle Lowry
SG: Rip Hamilton | Von Wafer | Brent Barry
SF: Tayshaun Prince | Shane Battier
PF: Luis Scola | Carl Landry | Chuck Hayes
CN: Yao Ming | Kwame Brown

Come on now, you more than anyone preach team ball. A closer isn't a closer until the fourth quarter. Mac is a ball hog, Artest is a ball hog, sometimes.

He missed 31 games this year and shot 25% from behind the arc though. Also he doesn't play defense!

I'm just hesitant to acquire another wing, because I don't think the Rockets are gonna let go of any of our current wings, outside McGrady. I think our wing rotation is fantastic, especially if Ron finds a way to be more effecient. We have great perimeter defense and explosive scoring off the bench at the 2/3, we just need to get bigger and I think we get that at the backup 4 and 5.

I believe we need to use this expiring for another seven footer 4/5 who can defend, block shots, hit an elbow jumper, maybe a three point shooter. He doesn't need to have a post up game, but needs to be able to clean up the glass and throw down. An Eddie Griffin type tragically comes to mind.

I gotta agree with you about Magette. When Jamal Crawford and Stephen Jackson call you out for being a ballhog, you know somethings up ;)

Besides, I think we should be done with taking guys who have put up gaudy stats on bad teams but haven't shown that they can make it translate to the next level. We need guys with winning mentalities and backgrounds on this team

Maggette has one important thing going for him that's going to be attractive to Morey. He's pretty much the best perimeter guy at drawing fouls and going to the line. Maggette has been either 1 or 2 in the league at ft/fg attempt for the past three years (along with kevin martin) and probably farther back than that. Drawing fouls and free throw percentage is one of the reasons that Morey went after Lowry so I could see him having interest in Maggette.

How about a trade for Kevin Martin...
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c3fl6u

Unlike Mcgrady Kevin Martin is a scorer that plays well with artest and in Rick Alderman's offense...
Andres Nocioni would spread the floor for yao at the pf spot....
And Beno Udrih would be a solid backup for Lowry...

Sacramento thinks why stay over the cap when they are gonna stay out of the playoffs for a while...
And at the same time they get Aaron brooks who the kings were high on and was the player that prevented us from getting Ron Artest Last year...

That deal cripples us for 4-5 years in the cap department.

Maggette would come off the bench, so he could ball hog all he wants. Ellis would give us that pg that we have been looking for. Being able to keep ron and shane would be a bonus

I'd be happy if we let his contract expire. I have a feeling I'm in the minority.

This team is supposed to be defensive minded, then you want to go and bring Maggette? We need an all rounder. Someone like Butler or Jamison. Rip too, I like our chances with him.

In this two years, prince's energy drops greatly
and he has back problem which will make him to make good defence.
Next year, he will be 30.
And Rip need a good pass pg for him.
I dont think both is good for rockets next year.

And that would be the price we pay for getting a young solid wing who can create his own shot and like m_cable said is one of the leaders in the league at getting to line.......

And not to mention that Yao has a few more years left and kevin martin has already proven he fits well in this offense which makes him a valuable asset with a low risk and high reward potential improvement for this team....

maggette is realistic...butler and jamison aren't going anywhere and rip is old as dirt, plus with maggette you will get another solid player in ellis or jackson

At this moment, rocket's manager likely will keep tmac next year.
I think some team will ask tmac's contract in summer.
But I think rockets will only consider if have very good offer.

I am trying hard not to laugh at the people who think we can can get Ellis and Corey for TMac's expiring contract. Even though TMac is an expiring contract, GS will never give up a proven franchise player that they appear to have made up with. As far as Corey, he is like TMac in that he thinks he is the man on scoring. We don't need him or the mental baggage he brings. I rather hold on to my dice and bet on getting Joe Johnson come 2010.

Only players that I do want:
    - Dwayne Wade - If Les can get him by going over the cap, he will get him. Les has never been afraid to go over the cap if it is a deal that will get us a ring.
    - Joe Johnson - The most realistic option come 2010. While everyone is busy drooling over Lebron and Wade, Joe Johnson is an underrated player I consider to be in NBA's top 20.
    - Al Harford - Great backup center. Fairly big and very solid.
    - Marvin Ely - Another great backup big.
    - Josh Smith - He has some baggage but who can't like this guy's athleticism and talent.

Yes we do need a closer and a backup center. However, we need a backup center far more than we need a closer at this point in time. A closer is useless if we don't have at least a halfway decent front court if Yao has another freak leg accident. There is no rush to get a closer right now as between a healthy Rockets team starting next season and the fact that they have gelled together, we will definitely do great next season as well.

Almost everyone hates TMac. We all know that and we all can't wait to get rid of him and his shenanigans. However, that does not mean we got to lose our mind and try to jump the gun. We forget that our Rockets started this season with Artest, TMac, Yao, and Battier in rehab and we STILL had a 50+ season AND made it past the first round.

I guess rockets will only consider one of them in reasonable contract.
2009 is not a good year for free agent because many nba teams have
    finanical problem...
I think they will find difficult to get a good contract in this summer.

Kevin Martin would be great for this team. He gets to the line and can create his own shot but I don't see any reason for Sacto to deal him. Since they dealt Miller and Salmons, their cap number is pretty manageable. They got some talent on that team (Martin, Hawes, Thompson) and will be adding a top 4 pick. They're in good shape and don't need to dump salary in order to rebuild the team.
