Bs rumor but ibaka is shooting over 40% from three so I'm not sure why ppl are so down on him. I'd trade ryno straight up for him but nothing else.
I'm really close with Thunder people from my time in college there and we've talked many times about Serge. *not an insider, just know talking heads* The fall off Serge had came because he became more of a jump shooter. With Perkins and Adams he was just not needed as the defensive anchor so he grew his game to head outward. Make no mistake he's still a great player and great defense but it's hard to get rebounds and blocks when you are shooting jump shots from long range. His game changed and he's still a wonderful option for pick n pop. He is great in the half court. Great role player. Would he fit our squad? He could make it work but I think what we got going is so good that I wouldn't break it up for Ibaka. Unless you can get a really good deal I think we are fine in the front court. Though having a defensive minded 4 for tight games might be something to consider.
hmm he shot something like 44.4% from 3 point line in playoff of last year. He was often wide open but WestBrick decided to make a selfish play or retreated to KD
If we got Ibaka Ariza & one of our young bigs are outta here (Capela, Dekker, Harrell). I don't know if I'm doing that because Ryno & Ibaka basically play the same position. Ibaka would have to play center I guess
Imagine Ibka and Baby Clint are out there. That's lot of blocks. He would be a nice mentor to help Clint grow. We also could use his ability to knock down elbow jumpers.
I would love to trade for Ibaka....but without involving Gordon or Ariza. They would have to take fringe rotation guys/rights to foreign players/draft pick(s)/Cash consideration. If Gordon can get paid a bunch & come off the bench.....so can Ryno.
LoL, that page is full of grammatical errors........ Just kept laughing, no way we trade Trevor or EG this year. If they want Ennis, Brewer and KJ, great...... If they want Ariza, EG, Trez, Capela, they can stuff it. Ibaka peaked, and his 1v1 defense was never that good, just amazing as a help defender.
just because they were dumb enough to give up both lottery pick and oladipo for a rental it doesn't mean they'll get an equal amount back. He is basically a 4 month rental now.
Don't need Ibaka at this point. Too much money... There's enough firepower in the front line to play in today's NBA anyways.
Yeah but Whiteside also falls into that "do not want" category for me. His traditional statlines are impressive, but all the analytics show he is not a plus player or defender. Watching his highlights it feels like he'll let people in the lane for open llayups just for the blocks. I like what we have going with this team or Capela, I'm not sure I'd be willing to risk it on Whiteside. Or Ibaka for that matter. I don't think he's enough of a positive force to risk depleting the chemistry this Rockets squad has. One name I thought of that would actually make sense is Avery Bradley, but even that is tough for me based on how much I love Bev and how he's been playing this year.
Anything from that site is a random trade idea. The Magic just traded 3 players to get Ibaka. I doubt they sell too cheap, but who knows. I think Ibaka is a bit overrated too, but he'd be a great fit and expiring. Brewer, 2nd round pick, and D-Mo's back for Ibaka. Get it done Morey!
I shouldn't feed this thread any more scraps, but it is all based off of one of those bulls*** websites (at least yibada has seemed to die down; maybe someone took it out back of the barn and shot it?) without a shred of actual insider info (most of which is also b.s.)
Ibaka trade is a perfect example of why Orlando front office (along with Denver) is one of the worst in the Association. He's an expiring contract and most likely isn't interested in staying there. He'll probably walk and they'll have nothing to show at all for the talent they gave up to rent him for one season of losing. Just a totally r****ded acquisition by them. All the same I'd trade for him in a heartbeat. Obviously I'd do Brewer/McDaniels since this moves out dead weight salary for next summer. But I'd also consider a deal along the lines of Anderson and our first for him and Hezonja. Orlando may just be stupid enough to do something like that. We've got Wiltjer ready to go to take all those 3's Anderson takes. He'll be just as effective as Anderson is out there. You can see it. Orlando is ripe to be Moreyed.
