I remember in anatomy lab dealing with the plantaris aka the freshman nerve. It's really small and having a sprain could take a while to heal. If I'm not mistaken I think it's important for jumping so that's a huge blow. If it was completely torn I wonder if they would let him play because not everyone has a plantaris. Either way big blow to okc.

The Thunder better play PJ3 now that Ibaka is out. If they aren't gonna play him then why keep him around at all?

I really like PJ3. I think he will surprise a lot of people with his play. Thunder in 6.

Sucks, Westbrook last year, Ibaka this year.

2 years of Durants and the thunders likelywasted.

Nick Collison is one of the hidden advanced metric superstars in the NBA. Completely serious. It may be an upgrade to see him play extended minutes.

I disagree. Nick Collison is an excellent role player and is great in short spurts. I don't think he has the stamina to take on extended minutes.

The Thunder need to play Durant at the 4 more and then Collison and PJ3.

This is unfortunate for Oklahoma City. OKC would have beaten the Spurs if healthy. I really thought the Thunder could have gone all the way this season. Now SA gets a 6 game warm-up for their rematch with Miami.

I think the Spurs would have been tough even with Ibaka healthy.
With both the Spurs and Thunder shaken up the Heat have another easy finals win.

I agree that collison is a player who is very good. However what ibaka brings is rim protection. Collison cannot fill that void his taking a charge skill is less useful against a team like the spurs. And nobody elsoeon the thunder can (adams a bit but not enough and he will be in foul trouble the entire series).

So letting collison play more is good. Just not at the expense of ibaka.

The stats agree with you, but this fails the eye test.

The main down side of this injury for the Thunder is that Brooks will play Perkins even more.

Parker will penetrate the paint harder than a sex addict who hasn't gotten some in a few years. Sucks for OKC , Duncan , Splitter , Manu will be slashing more now .

If you watch his play, you'd see that his style does not work with extended minutes. He's a high energy, high foul player. He cannot keep up either if he plays 35+mpg.

The Spurs are not shaken up. Not sure why people keep saying this.

the thunder will play small ball with reggie jackson, wb, sefolosha and durant at 4, forcing the spurs to take tiago out... or maybe is the other way around.

Expecting some stage in the series Durant to be put on Diaw to 'rest' on the defensive end.

And Diaw takes him to school in the post.
