I wonder...should some moderate start a real 9/11 rememberance thread that folks wont automatically assume has ulterior motives? Its a sad day in DD when that thought even occurs to me.

I know.....I said ILLEGAL war of conquest Thanks for the condolences....insofar as Dubya recently confirmed his latest reason for the war being oil, it does essentially boil down to 'conquest'. Not necessarily the land, but according to him the resources beneath it.
Someone should, R2K. I have vivid memories of 9/11, as I'm sure many here do. I was at home when the first plane struck the tower. Surprisingly, being the news junkie that I am, the tube wasn't on CNN. I was reading a good book. My wife called from her office with, "Did you hear that a plane hit the World Trade Center?!?" "You're kidding!" popped out as I reached for the remote. "How could anyone be that stupid??" I'm watching CNN and their coverage, wondering what kind of plane it was and thinking about the time a B-25 WWII vintage bomber smacked into the Empire State Building during some low visibility. To my surprise, it was a beautiful day. While I'm watching, the second jet hits the other tower. The first thing I think of is that this is not an accident! This is some kind of attack. Honestly, I don't know how long I watched the coverage. Until I passed out sometime very late that night, or early in the morning, I should say. When the first tower fell I got weak in the knees (I spent a lot of time pacing around, watching the TV) and had to sit down. It was unbelievable. All these thoughts race through your head... all the people dying, both those still inside, and those brave people trying to save them. Nothing had ever happened before that could, in any way, really be compared to it. Let's hope nothing like this ever happens again. I want those responsible dead. I'm still angry about it. Why some of the people here think that liberal, Democratic Americans don't feel this way is insane. That's why I have so much anger for the resources diverted from getting the bastards behind the attack. They are still out there, plotting further horrific assaults on us. You can bet on it.
