You're assuming rationality on my opinion (and probably others). There is none. I liken my desire to stake him to an antbed to a father murdering his daughter's rapist. I don't think we should allow that as a society, but I couldn't convict someone if they did it.
I knew that was coming. I can't be sure of what should be done. I'm glad it is not my job to decide. I think citizens are protected under the Constitution, which is why I classify them differently.

not according to the Bush administration - Padilla (an american citizen arrested in chicago) spent years in extra-judicial limbo w/o normal const. rights. He got fewer rights than Omar Abdel Rahman (who actualy did blow up part of the WTC). To give you an idea of how dangerous Padilla was, he thought you could enrich plutonium and uranium by putting it in a coffee can and swingining it around on a string. (seriously, he did).
Perhaps not counting on rationality I am just curious where people who think torture is right in the cases of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Zubeyda draw the line on the use of torture.
In regard to civil liberties the 14th Ammendment applies to non-citizens also. This is why Gitmo was created under the argument that it actually wasn't US territory. Also in regard to 8th Ammendment which would prevent torture the USSC has stated it is an evolving standard. Generally this has mean that it is evolving to be stricter but this is an area where theoretically one could argue that since it isn't fixed it coudl be broadened to include waterboarding.
I don't understand why Americans are so many times considered inherently superior to everyone else in the world. A human being is a human being, a life is a life. The people that died in the WTC aren't more important than the Iraqis that were killed in the war. Right?

Your last post was in response to a post highlighting that "All men are created equal." You specifically said that people should be tortured for "terrorizing US citizens." How am I reaching? Sure seems as though you're inferring something. I guess I might understand your intentions more if you give your .02 on judoka's question.
