I think I can see partly why Josh Christopher was traded - Alpi describes how people were just happy anyway, even though the team kept losing. I could imagine that Josh Christopher was one of these people. Nice guy, but not taking losses hard. Bad for culture, especially in combination with his buddy Jalen.

Also, at minute 39, he is basically confirming that there was zero accountability for Jalen from Silas.

lol that is not why Josh was traded. This front office and coaching staff at the time accepted a culture of losing, our vets (EG) couldn’t care less and so the youngins were left to figure things out on their own. Losing was accepted to they followed suit.

Ime made that point clear in his press conference around the mindset shift this team needed.

 

He is a very determined kid. Iron-willed. Knows what he wants, who he is and works everyday to better himself. After listening to the episode i'm even more certain that he's gonna keep improving.

 

I'm obviously just speculating. And I agree with you about the situation at the time. But they traded him before this season, before the "reset".

OK, watched the whole thing (while doing some work and posting in parallel). I had never seen a longer interview with Alpi. He clearly seems like a smart kid who knows what he wants, not shy.

I know it sounds bad, and I am a foreigner as well, but he is easier to understand for me than Jalen lol.

Really liked PG. Very accommodating and respectful.

 

Ime Udoka mumbles too. i feel like we are so focused on Jalen's mumbling.

 

Turkish speakers could see that easily even in his first year. That's one of the reasons why I was so high on him. IQ, learning capacity, drive, concentration, a focused mindset are very hard to find, especially combined with high skills and talent. God he is even a team player!! Just the perfect guy.

Now you can see it even when he is speaking English.

 

Shoutout to Stone for keeping Boban around to help develop Sengun. A former Euro player himself understand the transition to the league not knowing anyone or anything. (same with luka)

When other stars in the league anoint a young guy like pg does w sengun, thats a great sign. I think he knows more than us about NBA basketball.
