You see whenyou havea guy that big and strong you have to foul them hard so they don't get the extra points. If Artest did this in a Rocket's uniform, you would be all over it.

SamFisher. I've only been signed up to this site for the the last few months. However excuses like not being able to adjust to FIBA rules and no preparing a team that could perform well together are I agreed with, when the rest of the world just thought everyone else caught up.

However when the rest of you show this arogance like you should be treated like superstars is embarassing. So you had some rough players try and rough you up. Get over it. This is a man's game. Let's not sook about rough contact on this sport. Just when referee's ignore it and are inconsistant based on home court advantage aka Utah Jazz.

It was a man's game. And the men won ;) :p

I think everyone is so pumped up about the wins because all of us Yanks have been hearing about how USA hoops is no longer dominant and that pisses us off. Glad we are showing the world that we are better than they thought

Yet another impressive win plus it's nice to see Kobe have one of those "reminder" type of games. Kobe has been good but not spectacular so far. It's nice to see him have a game like this just to remind everybody he can still be the best player on the floor no matter who he's playing with or against.

We're definitely at the point where if Team USA loses or even genuinely gets tested from this point on i'll be stunned.

Mills will be in the draft next year (or the year after? depends if he goes for early entry)

We'll be able to try and get his rights then - although I think he's a first round pick and we'll miss him at pick 31 (the Grizzlies second rounder :p )

LOL Worthington an enforcer??? Now that's funny. Just because he's got a dodgy mo doesn't mean he's a tough guy.

Now if i remember correctly Wortho gave Melo a hard foul instead of letting him get an easy two. Apparently the Boomers share Ron Ron's ideas of "no layups." There was nothing untoward, he mostly got ball, but there was no question it was a hard foul. Make him work for the two points if you ask me. Then LBJ comes up from behind and cracks Wortho in the back of the head with his elbow. After that chain of events you decide that Wortho is a punk? Stop sniffing the team USA jockstrap, they may be extremely talented at basketball, but they sure do put the ass in class....

That's crap. It's not about being rough- it's about committing legitimate fouls and not being called for it. It's about not having enough talent and making up for it by playing basketball with rules designed for football. And there should be consistent refereeing.

Is baseball not a man's sport due to lack of contact? Give me a break. It has nothing to do with players being treated like superstars- it has to do with fair refereeing. I have no problem at all with physical play- as a matter of fact, the U.S. team committed several fouls against the Aussies that should have been called but weren't, so it's not a bias.

Man's sport? How 19th century. Take your macho nonsense elsewhere.

"Get over it" yourself and quit complaining about Boozer hitting somebody. Remember, "this is a man's game". Follow your own advice.

Mills has no jumpshot. He will be lucky if he will be picked at all at the draft

Daryl Morey and the Rockets scouts are in China scouting these games. If Mills can abuse Team USA with his speed. There is absolutely no reason why Aaron Brooks can't do the same in the NBA. It'll be interesting to see if the Rockets take anything from these games...

Mostly ball huh? I guess they subscribe to the notion that everything up to the elbow is considered to be part of the ball. Worthington gave melo a push afterwards so lebron returned the favor. Now that was funny...LOL

Your a tool. There is a difference between fouling someone hard but being a good sportsmen. There is another thing about just trying to be macho.
ANd I didn't complain, I brought it up. Plus he has a record of being like that. Did you watch the last two play-off serious?

    'dandorotik'.
I never said it is about being rough. I said he had to commit a hard foul to stop Melo form getting the extra points. Instead of slapping him on the amrs and having him get the extra points, he wrapped him up. Made sure he had to make free throws.
And I never said contact is what makes it a man's game. This is a game played by men, so if you get hit hard take it.
Thank god Melo doesn't winge about it like his is part of the game.

Oh and I guarntee you hypocrytes, if Artest compitted a hard foul you would be all over it. Like when that vid was posted of Artest against Utah. You all wet yourselves.

'ParaSolid', just to let you know, I have no problem with what LeBron did. He let him know he didn't like the hard foul and that was it.

Worthington didn't attempt to injury or hurt Melo. He stopped him from being able to follow through and get the extra two points. Sure it was a bit rough, but take it.

    Rest of you - 0

Should I link you to the thread about how you wet yourself when Artest commited that hard foul? That is hypocrytical.

SamFisher. I got know idea what you are on about. What ever you are on though, please send some over.

You know what I also love about American and there spin. I watched some of your early morning programs, (get them late at night). How funny is it, that when going through the medal tally, you order it by total medals instead of golds. Just saw you aren't in the company of the rest of us, as being beaten by a Communist country in the Olympics.

Who cares what America does with the medal tally?

It's the same as the Australian papers flashing us full size photos and articles about the Boomers and how they beat teams - "crushed European powerhouse Lithuania"

Yet it doesn't bother mentioning that Lithuania already had the number 1 spot secured - more than likely couldn't even give a damn about playing the Aussies.

Yet it also doesn't bother even mentioning in the papers when the Boomers lose, get blown out - lose a 19 point lead to Argentina.

No wonder Australian basketballers think they are the kings - they read the media and only see good things about them.

    I hate Americans.

    They are all morons.

They all have aggression disorders and know nothing about sports.

Better include this before I get banned

    ;)

That was an attempt to build drama for the game. They needed to play on that so that people would tune in. If they thought AUstralia had no chance, they would not tune it.
Now that they got a audiance, fans would have got to see Patrick Mills and Brad Newley play. They also would have seen the athleticism of the American team.
What are they going to say in the papaer? Oh, they beat a Lithuania team that didn't try and have no chacne of winning. That would have got people interested.

    Wow.

    Seen him play?

He hits the three pointer without too much hassle...
But why resort to jumpers when you can get into the lane at will?
