    It's a traveshamockery already.

Highly skilled, AND 1 shots taken away, momentum shift calls, the stream of non calls and bs fouls.. The League's full repertoire on display. The Audaciousness.

James, Russ...the rest of the team..they're set to terrorize the league, but the powers that be, at least for one night, hung a loss on us, and turned what should have been pure bliss and hope/confidence, into pain.

That said, it should now be obvious to all how good we can really be this year.

It was on James because Russ was hooping. That coach made a bad decision to go small in the second half. Defensively we did not play tight in the second half. We are not the best defensive team, but we will blow other teams out if we play tight and disruptive defense. We really have to make that commitment on defense.

We got cold in the 4th. Coach didn't adjust as usual in the final minutes. Let Lopez manhandle Tucker. Sigh.

I think durvasa hit it right on the head. They are not going to allow harden to create space with his body before the stepback this year. I don’t see why not when Giannis can just barge in there and get calls.

....that were waived off due to flops or incidental contact. It's not just Rocket homers saying this even Marv and Webber were like WTF.

Meanwhile Giannis does the same move and then lowers his shoulder into a set defender - blocking call on the Rockets.

The "league" didn't agree. Giannis uses his off arm and then dips his shoulder on all of his bulldozer drives, hell Harden was allowed to do it depending on who was the referee closest to the play last night.

There's a set of Harden rules and then there's rules for everyone else. Thanks a lot twitter.

The three point shot he made but they called an offensive foul was bs.

However Harden was trying to hunt for a foul on EVEVY possession last night. After every miss he was b****ing at the refs and he was flailing after every miss.

He needs to stop this. He starts taking horrible shots when the refs aren't helping him.

Asking the refs to call fouls correctly is not asking the refs to help, just to clear up some apparent confusion on your part.

Harden doesn't get fouled on every possession. Asking refs to call a foul every time he takes a shot attempt is absurd.

I guess it’s a good thing that literally nobody thinks Harden gets fouled on every shot then.

That was exactly what happened last night. Harden on every miss was b****ing at the refs. Almost ever shot attempt seemed like an attempt to draw a foul.

I was sitting courtside 1st row last night, and I can personally guarantee that what you’re talking about factually did not occur, regardless of your personal feelings to the contrary.

The difference is that Harden's move happens on the perimeter, where fouls are generally called more tightly. Also, one is initiating contact while driving to the basket (which Harden also does routinely), and the other is initiating contact to clear space for a jump shot.

I disagree that there's a quantifiable radius of tightness of contact without more evidence.

You could easily argue the other way, an official will be more inclined to no-call perimeter contacts because the play is way further away from the basket and many other intervening causes will occur before any unfair advantage is exploited.

I can imagine, a few years from now, if Antetokotumpo goes heel-turn in LA or Golden State and the NBA twitter-take-disinformationverse goes crazy that this becomes a point-of-emphasis as he appears to consistently lower his shoulder into a planted defender. But, that's not his burden to bear yet

Finally, as far as I'm concerned, for the last 2 years, the standard for off-arm contact in the NBA is that basically anything south of this is OK:

if it's chagned, it's changed, but does anybody expect this to be prominently applied to anybody but Harden this year?

Harden is such a likable dude. Why have it out for him? This man has worked from a bench player to an MVP player. That storyline is ****ing amazing, and shame on people and the media to make him a villain.

He has done nothing wrong. He never acted like he was better than the organization or the city of Houston. I want him to win a championship with us because of that.
