The Clippers have the tie breaker over the Rockets Clippers conference is (35-15) Rockets conference is (32-19)
They have the tie breaker BUT if the rockets win and the spurs lose, We will win the division. Winning a division trumps any tiebreakers. Thus we would get the 2 seed.
My understanding is that, if the Rockets win their division, then they get the tiebreaker over the Clippers as a division winner. If the Rockets do not win the division, the Clippers have the tiebreaker.
You face them in round two or three... It isn't like playing San Antonio is much better.... Hell there is no team I want to play in a close game LESS than San Antonio.
If we were to end up 5th seed against Blazers, who would have homecourt advantage? Rockets would have better record but Blazers would have higher seed.
The Clips might lose tonight. If that happens and the Griz lose against Indiana, the Rockets would be in an interesting situation. They would be able to win against the Jazz and play Memphis 1st round or lose to the Jazz and play a beat up Portland team 1st round. What would you do? (This is all assuming the Spurs win)
Yeah we would get the "at-large" top 4seed as we would have the best record. The top 4 seeds are the 3 division winners and the team with the best remaining record. If we win and they lose tonight we get the 3seed. if we both win out the own the tie breaker.
I would play injured Portland, we have HCA either way there's no difference facing GSW or Spurs second rounds.
