Since returning to work I've started posting more - probably because working sucks in general. When I'm on vacation I don't bother with it as much because the need for a distraction isn't there. I actually wish I'd post less - I do nothing during the day and then end up doing most of my work at night at home because I have a crappier stolen wifi connectin there that is not so good. But real work just sucks, and that's something we can all agree on I think.
I don't doubt that they could infiltrate whoever is running the ports now, even before it is taken over by the UAE.
Very powerful tapes. Saddam reiterates his interest in mass destruction. He clearly says how he did NOT show the weapons inspectors everything they had. He said they were hiding weapons from the inspectors. He said that the knowledge to build/resume WMD could be restarted at any moment - all the knowledge was in their heads... His true intentions were clear, and he was hiding WMD. Plain as day for anybody to hear.
What a flop. Saddam predicts that somebody wants to attack the US in the mid 90's with a nuclear carbomb? LOL, too bad Condi Rice didn't get that memo, maybe should have spent less time on missile defense. I hope he comes out with a book of predictions, sort of like a Saddamstradamus type affair. I wonder if he also predicted USC over Texas in the Rose Bowl? Ha ha ha. Texxx, I can see why you resurfaced in this thread after midnight - two consecutive days of pratfalls was simply too much.
Nice dancing around the facts. Michael Flatley you are not. Not even close. Sam, please address the fact that Saddam was intentionally hiding WMD from the inspectors. There are people on this bbs who believe he was being honest. This tape refutes that.
Texxx, I'm still waterlogged from the gigantic bellyflop wich this thread caused. I will have to address this issue in the morning after breakfast. (which, incidentally, will consist of a TASTY omelette inspired by the MONUMENTAL egg this thread just laid - indeed, it will be a splendid feast!)
I do not know of anyone here who thought Saddam was an honest man. Most people here (and most countries) thought Saddam had WMD. The questions were to what extent and if that extent was a real and current threat.
And how do you find that out? We knew (or suspected at least) and he has admitted that he was hiding things from the inspectors. How do you go find out for sure? Ask him "Pretty please with a cherry on top..."
