Right now IMO Paul is #1, and Nash is #2. Nash is ahead of Deron in assists and is a ridiculously good shooter/efficient scorer (though Deron is pretty darn good to. Deron can change my mind if he picks it up against the Lakers, but I have been pretty disappointed with how he has managed his team and the tempo the first 2 games (and game 1 he was flat disinterested and awful).

But by next year I would be solidly surprised if I would have Nash ahead of Deron. Paul is going to stay way out in front though barring injury.

Just last year everyone was saying steve nash is the best pg the only pg better in my opinion is cp3 obviously and after that is deron williams although i do think he is catching up to steve nash. I think he will eventually pass him up but u cannot dismiss what steve nash has done the past few years.

    Nice stats.

He isn't the same player. Defensively, he is worse than ever. His decision making seems be cloudier than in previous seasons and he is old. I've said that we are going to see a very rapid decline in his game in the next two years in other threads. I guess I should have clarified that here.

So I guess the statement was idiotic but only because I was not clear in my meaning.

It is true at times late in games his decision making was not what we were used to (game 1 poor in 4th, though great in the OTs; game 5 just really poor late in the 4th).

That said with a coach who doesn't burn his players out to the degree MDA does and who believes in team defense I think Nash could stay fresher and better next year. Stockton averaged about 29 MPG his last 6 years and his efficiency remained really high over those minutes--Phx needs to do the same with Nash.

Please, please, please don't tell me you would for one nanosecond you consider Alston to be a better PG than Nash, DWill, Tony Parker, Billups or Baron. This isn't even debatable.

Most of those guys are the 2nd option on their team and are devasting on a fastbreak. In many cases, they are one-man fastbreaks.

Alston on a good night is maybe 3rd fiddle to both Yao AND McGrady. On a bad night...which is frequent...he's worse than Battier and Scola.

I had a thought process between Deron and Jose Calderon... I really like Calderon and I think hes the 4th best PG behind Parker now but I think DWill is truly the 2nd best pg, then Parker, then Calderon, then Nash, then Davis

    so many blind posters.

Tony Parker never gets the credit he deserves

When he got scored on by CP and they zoomed in on his face and u could see the disbelief then just goes and busts a fadeway in his ugly unibrow grille w/o relying on 3picks

u saw who had more skill

    Spurs will win. TP>CP

those numbers are absolutely insane. people like to rag on nash for winning back to back mvps but its really hard to argue. how he's been able to improve his game, even at this stage of his career, is incredible. shooting 47% from the 3 pt line, given the volume of 3s he shoots, is abso-positively-freaking ridiculous. not only is he his team's primary playmaker, he's their best shooter and clutch shot maker. chris paul and deron williams are studs, but don't count steve nash out just yet.

DWill is not a PG, he is more like a juiced up PF. Only true PG, that can score at will, are great PG's.

Chris Paul is the Second Best Point Guard, he wishes he could be half as good as Rafer Alston.

i went with deron williams, but it was hard to vote him over my boy b-diddy. It's looking like there is a chance Davis might opt out of his contract. Maybe Morey should get on the horn with the Warriors and work out a sign and trade, and are point guard problems are over. :D ( I know it would never happen)
