Well yeah, I think the only reason it would need to be pointed out that more white people are killed by police than black people would be to combat the narrative that people getting killed by police is only something that happens to black people. I do get pointing out that the number is still disproportionately high for black people, but it seems like there is solid reason for the numbers.

Also, I think that looking at the overall numbers of people killed by police is a bit pointless, I think the numbers (if they exist) that would be more useful would be the number of unjustifiable police homicides and what the breakdowns would look like then.

At some point you can't change the past. Even more so there isn't enough focus on the internal problems only blacks can solve. The government can't fix everything

I haven't seen anyone make that argument and I certainly didn't make it.

Therefore, I have to stand by previous point about the paragraphs not being relevant.

I wasn't trying to accuse you of making that argument, I was suggesting that would be an appropriate time to point that out, not saying it was appropriate in this instance.

I don't mean to turn all these threads into the same debate so let me say this about Kaepernick and Bennett

Its great these athletes wanna be socially active but regardless of the general debate about this or other social issues, these guys probably don't understand these issues.

Ali, Kareem, and others were much more informed than these guys

What exactly do you know about these guys and their backgrounds? Seems like you quite often spouse nonsense without understanding issues.

Conviction rate, not murder rate. Think about the important differences there.

You can never change the past but you can't fix anything unless acknowledge the root causes. It's s cop out to say the government can't fix everything when it's barely attempted to fix anything much less prevented the predatory nature of the white power establishment on minority communities.

I think the point is that the things that need to be changed aren't things that the government can change. There's nothing the government can do that will end a subculture that glorifies criminality, there's nothing the government can do that will make men stick around and raise their children.

Are you kidding. Murder is the biggest focus of the justice system. There are aren't a bunch of false convictions or people walking.

Actually, I knew Bennett, he's a bright and good dude. What information do you have that he isn't? What did he say that was so criminally wrong that you could imply he's dumb?

Well I agree with Kap which is why I didn't mention his name. He's not said some of the best things and sometimes seems all over the place quite frankly. I don't think he's a dumb guy though, just that yes maybe he's not as informed.
