Pretty sure he means focus on the road. Even though every accident isn't your fault. So I guess he means no texting, talking on the phone, looking for stuff in your car and changing your radio station while driving.
I was just pointing out the inconsistency in people's thought process (in this case, my girlfriend's). This is r****ded.
A lot of times, you don't have a choice if you get into an accident or not. You may be an excellent driver but that doesn't mean anything if the guy next to you is careless. I got into a wreck a week an a half ago. A guy pulled out into the intersection when he shouldn't have and I didn't have time to stop. I jammed on my brakes immediately but I still t-boned him. It wasn't my fault, I was going the speed limit and there wasn't anything else I could have done to avoid the collision. My seatbelt did it's job and I was sore, but uninjured. There was serious potential for bodily injury if I hadn't been wearing it. About 10 years ago, I was in a band and we were driving up to a gig in Dallas on I-45. We had rented a cargo van for the trip. Around Palmer, TX, some chick behind us cuts off a guy in lane to our left. Doing so causes her to lose control of her car and she ends up hitting us which drives us into the guardrail which serves as a ramp as we go flying off the road. This was an elevated section too so it was about a 15-20 foot drop. We landed near the feeder and broke the front axle on impact. Nobody except the two guys in the front were wearing their seatbelt. The guy sitting in the middle of the first row ended up hitting his head on the windshield. I blacked out during the wreck. I just know that I was in the middle of the 2nd row and the next thing I remember I have my back against the front passenger seat. The car that hit us ended up catching its front tires on the guardrail and flipping a couple of times. The moral of the story is that accidents usually involve multiple vehicles. Just because you're a safe driver (or think you are) doesn't shield you from the plethora of idiots on the road. ANYONE can get into a wreck.
100% true. I'm a relatively safe driver and I like to think that I'm wearing a seatbelt, not because of the law, but to protect myself from reckless idiots. My mum was hit buy some illegal punk with no insurance, who thought red lights meant speed racer mode on. She sustained a minor back injury, which I think healed over the years, but could've been a whole lot worse had it not been for the seatbelt. It's not a hassle to put one on. It only takes 1 second to put it on and doesn't make you look any less cool. To each his own I guess.
I agree with the phone and definitely texting, but you sound just like my mum about the radio. She hates it when I start pressing buttons on the radio. Honestly I don't think it's dangerous, unless you get really into your radio. It's like looking down for a split second to turn on the AC/heater. Now what I don't get is how sometimes I see drivers with a little dvd screen on their radio... and they have it on and watching some odd show. Who has the time to watch tv while driving? /off topic
Well I do it too but I'm just saying people have had accidents by trying to mess with their cd player/radio.
To be honest, a condom won't save you from pregnancy or STDs 100% of the time...don't focus on wrapping the rascal, focus on busting your nut and pulling out at the right time. A rubber does not make you impervious to that skank that has crabs.
Always. IMO, you are a complete fool if you don't. I saw a wreck happen on the highway once; kid from my school died on-site (I pulled over and called 911 and whatnot). He didn't have a seatbelt on, would've been fine if he did. There is no legitimate reason not to wear one unless you prefer dying in a wreck to living. I don't care if it's the law or not, it's still stupid not to wear one.
lol When I first got the car, I took someone to the store who would NOT wear a seat belt. The whole drive there the car beeped and I asked him to put his seat belt on. Most annoying drive ever. Never drove that guy anywhere again.
I have a really bad habit of never wearing my seatbelt. Since I've first got my licence at 16. Now im just so used to not wearing one that is uncomfortable to wear it.It feels weird. I now this pretty dumb on my part and i should start using it. Only time i put my seatbelt on is when i see a police . Then i scramble to put my seatbelt on. Most the times not even onall the way ... i just hold it in place til the cop is gone.
I always wear my seatbelt. I'm kind of surprised by how many people on here refuse to do something so simple that can have an impact on saving lives.
