Yeah, with Francis, Bonzi and McGrady....we'll have one of the best rebounding backcourts. Yao before the injury was terrific as is Mutombo. Scola was in the top 10 in the Spanish league....and Hayes is solid.
Rockets lost in Game 7 again. Fans were all very sad. But I believe the saddest person is T-mac. It seems he is thinking about it all summer. I think he cannot forgive himself. He is trying to find a reason to convince himself. I hope he has convienced himself of it already, and has enough courage to fight for next season.
I find it funny the author tries to compliment Yao, but at the same time backhandedly insults him. He says Yao can not seem to string together a full NBA season. Maybe he should realize he played three full seasons prior to the last two. He says Yao's body is fragile. The toe injury was from neglect, and the broken leg from Chuck falling into him. Those are not fragile type injuries. Hell, Amare's knee injury was more a fragile type injury from wear and tear then Yao's injury. But I dont see anyone calling Amare fragile. He says Yao has learned to score and rebound like he should, then calls him finesse. Other then Shaq, no center bangs down low and wears out his defender more then Yao. He is no longer using all spin moves, fakes, and fade aways. He dips the shoulder, knocks the guy off balance and gets his points.
yao IS a finesse player. what are u talking about? being a finesse player is not a bad thing. duncan is a finesse player. dirk is a finesse player.
Well, let's just cross our fingers and hope Yao doesn't become a Ralph Sampson. Awesome at first and then sloshed by a big injury. He's definitely injury prone and that worries me a great deal. I wonder if Yao sustained more injuries the last two years because of the way JVG played him, or if Yao is just suffering from fatigue from playing years in the NBA now without much rest.
I do not know how you can compare Yao to Ralph Sampson. Ralph did not last as long as Yao already has.....
Not bad except for starting James over Stevie... In fact, he almost seems to imply that even RAFER should be ahead of Steve in the rotation, but maybe I'm just misinterpreting what he wrote. Steve is definitely our best option there... he acts as if James is coming off some great year himself.
disagree with dadakota...the casual fan is not better informed than most columnists or beat reporters...they are just more opinionated due to their anonymity
