Considering our young talent, I think he would be a nice piece to grow with Landry, Dorsey, and AB.

I doub't he will be much more than a good shotblocker in this league, but we definitely could use more of that with Deke gone.

The kid is an extremely talented shotblocker, but you really got to think somethings wrong with him in that why would the nets be so willing to give him up. Maybe he would work on a veteran team, maybe you stockpile talent like him for the future or maybe Morey would look at it as to much of a risk in bringing him back to his hometown. For Luther it would seem like a low risk trade if the Nets were willing to do it. Could Williams help the Rockets against teams like the Lakers, Jazz and Portland?

Maybe you're right, but at the same time a Head (expiring) for Williams trade gives the Nets immediate cap relief, so you never know. Then again, the Head + Francis for Williams + Hassell deal gives them even more cap relief. Just depends on how greedy they are versus how much they want to get rid of Williams.

I don't think he could help out immediately, but he is strong as an ox and one of the leagues premiere shotblockers. Jefferson said the kid was all muscle, and set brutal picks. He actually does have a better offensive repertoire than I thought. He also struggled in college with his rebounding, but that doesn't appear to be an issue since he's been in the L.

I would love to have him for future development and maybe 10 - 15 minutes a game giving Yao (the Big Liability) a rest. I think a team of Batman and True Warier could teach him about professionalism. Development of Brooks, Landry, and Sean would give us something special as a second unit. I would also like to see Wafer get some development. With development they could give the Faker's 2nd unit a run for their money.

    I think it is possible...

He would be in a good environment, yet would be needed alot because of the big men in the West.

He might end up in SA or Dallas, they have more to offer, besides ...Luther Head.

I think they'd take Head for Williams right now. Especially with Ager being a bust and not an option there at all as well as Harris being injured. As much as this board dislikes Head as a PG he can play there as a backup.

I'm not sure if he can help right away though. Also the Rockets need to dump around $1.7M to get under LT. If Francis can't be moved or bought out it's Hayes who's next on the trading block for a salary dump.

Agreed with the general notion than Head for Williams actually helps both teams and is realistic.

Williams scares me a bit because of the baggage and what not but it's a risk worth taking considering our dangerous lack of size and a true backup center.

I know he had a lot of baggage coming out of college (weed, attitude etc) but I'm not aware of any of these issues since coming into the league unless I missed something. I think he is a low risk high reward type of guy especially with this veteran laden team... he could probably learn a thing or two and contribute. In any case he's much more valuable to us than Head sitting on the bench.

This guy played great for them last year from what I saw. He was very active, good on the boards, and ran the floor well. It's hard to believe he's riding the pine the way he is now. The talent is obviously there, his offcourt issues must be worse than we know about. The JR Smith of big men?

I am not aware of anything since college either but i'm operating under the "anything could happen" type of pretense you get with guys like Williams that clearly aren't very cerebral players and come with a history of attitude & discipline related issues.

Much like how Artest has practically been a boy scout since the brawl....you can't tell me your heart didn't stop beating whenever he charged at Josh Howard or the Rafer/Barnes thing broke out, you can't tell me you weren't absolutely dreading Artest doing something stupid. Kind of the same thing with Williams in a different capacity.

Don't get me wrong, I would still do this trade. Just saying the guy scares me a bit.

We don't need someone who can't beat Neajra for a spot in the rotation.

He's 6'10 with long arms and good leaping ability. He can play C in any conference anywhere.

New Jersey wouldn't trade a talented, young, cheap player for nothing unless they had good reason. When Josh Boone is ahead of you, it is not a good sign. No thanks.

You're right. The only redeeming thing I have heard is that Sean Williams is dissatisfied with the way he is playing.

let get the home boy back.

Under ron, he will not dare to do anything stupid <-- Dorsey. :p

A legit big man, with a great hop and nice wing span, as well as loving the blocks. Just cant help to think, a front court duo of landry and williams. Along with AB. Thats more athleticism in the rox team since the SF3 days.
