Wasn't the primary reason Sean was released was because he was causing problems in the Nets locker room? The Rockets have no tolerance for players like that.
i think your locker room is pretty terrible to begin with if you only can win 3 games so far. just saying.
If Sean Williams clears waivers, the Rockets should pick him up and waive Dorsey. Better to have a 6-10 prospect than a 6-7 project.
Once Williams clears waivers his contract remains the onus of the Nets even though he is free to sign a smaller, shorter contract with anyone. Dorsey has not been able to make any progress in all the time we have had him. Buying him out and adding Williams on a smaller contract is almost a wash. Williams has size, skills and can play FC or C. If we are going with shrimp centers, I prefer Hayes to Dorsey. Williams, a Houston local, has far more potential.
Williams has been productive when he has played. Anderson had issues off the court, but his game was the same, shotblocking, finishing, running the court and stuff like that.
It looks like another coaching problem to me but I could be wrong. Same as the Anthony Randolph hold out. Look what happens when they play him...
If Williams could do what Randolph could do on O he would be 6 man for the Nets. Williams is another one of those physical players that lack awareness on both O and D, if he gets it all together the best case scenario for him would still be Stromile Swift.
This thread reminds of a great scene from Arrested Development... Tobias: You know, Lindsay, as a therapist, I have advised a number of couples to explore an open relationship where the couple remains emotionally committed, but free to explore extra-marital encounters. Lindsay: Well, did it work for those people? Tobias: No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but... but it might work for us.
This is not a guy the Rockets would want in their locker room... Spoke with an exec today with one of his former teams, and lets just say, he does not fit in here or many places...
I don't get down on people with personality flaws that much. People on this board really get on their elitist high horse about "bad character". Its aggravating at times. Reading things about Sean Williams though, it does seem he REALLY doesnt get it. Just totally undependable. Stromile Swift was at least dependably dumb. Sean Williams has no discipline. If you get him, he'll give you a headache. No other way around it. Have to have a double standard with him letting himself get into trouble, and that usually doesnt go over too well in a team game. He could be like Birdman. He could also be like Alton Ford or Gerald Green, being TOO comfortable at home in his own skin.
