the problem is he ultimately hurt his cause...his trip shows us what freaking liars the iraqi government are...particularly when it comes to WMD...further creates the impression there's something to hide.
really?? you might want to let the UN know that, then...they're spending a good deal of money with that whole "inspection" thing. if you can let them know right now that there are WMD which Iraq is concealing we can skip past that step and get on to the next one.
The UN knows this first hand via its earlier weapons inspection regimes. Again, this is nothing new. You need to ask yourself whether there would be this much coverage of the anti-war movement in the mainstream press, if Penn had stayed at home.
i don't care about the press coverage in the slightest... as for the UN...if Iraq is lying about weapons of mass destruction than they've already materially breached the agreement. if that's the case, on to phase 2.
