This is why I'm glad we have RA rather than JVG. RA can alter the offense to take advantage of who we have.. and we have Jackson to help make it work. Get better Yao.

Can you find a free agent who's bigger than Yao? There's nothing we can do besides going small.

It's our only choice. I can see Scola/Landry/Chuck platooning at our two big positions. Finally Scola and Landry get to develop their own personas and not be lumped together as Scolandry.

Agree with the idea. We obviously can't replace Yao in the low post with anyone on the roster.

Time to change the philosophy and play more Rick-ball. Open the floor up for Tracy to create, make the high post P&R and high post "pseudotriangle" offense more prominent.

    Starting Lineup of:
    Scola - Landry - Battier - McGrady - Alston
    or
    Scola - Battier - McGrady - Head - Alston

Make up Yao's 37 mpg by
Upping Scola to 35, Landry to 30, get Hayes Novak and Deke 10 each to fill out the frontcourt rotation. Let Battier play 10 mins at the 4 if the matchups allow it.

Bobby Jackson and Luther Head get some extra time at the 2, maybe Bobby Jones and Gerald Green get some looks as well.

Floor spacing and off-ball movement just became ten times more important, and a zone defense might be a good idea.

DD is right, going small is our only option.Deke can get some minutes off the bench when we need him.

RA can alter the offense... but I wouldn't necessarily knock JVG... who was able to keep the Rockets season alive after Yao went down last year, and was able to take the Knicks to the finals when Patrick Ewing got hurt.

i think it's time for us to truly run the adelman offense and really play small (but we're not gonna be like the warriors b/c we play defense)

i'm sure we'll surprise a lot of fans. but still, the bitter taste of yao injured is still there.

Probably Gerald Green's best chance to show if he can contribute. If he can become a smarter more disciplined player just in time for the playoffs (assuming we make it which I think we will), he COULD be a great 2nd scorer along side T-Mac.

    Get better SOON Yao......... :(

Adapt and over come gents. RA is a good coach and i believe he can get the best out of the team without Yao. We gotta keep faith. Im as bummed as anyone, but this is the test we were given. Lets focus one game at a time. 13 tonight!

If ever there was a huge opportunity to turn T-Mac's career doubts around, the time is now. Show us you are mentally strong and you will not quit. I dont give a damn if we don't make the playoffs as long as you show on the court you gave 110%! Keep truckin T-Mac! And you better believe that team around you will have your back!

LETS GO HOUSTON! LETS GO HOUSTON! LETS F'IN DO THIS HOUSTON!

They are running to the opposite end of the spectrum. Bobby is going to backup spot 2, AB backing up Rafer. Fxck the west all the way.

I think we're okay. It will just depend on our matchup in the playoffs. RA's system was never designed for a low post pressence. I think he'll make the proper adjustments and we'll be fine. I suspect McGrady will take his game to MVP levels like he did last year when Yao was out for 32. I no longer think we're an elite team but I think we're still going to be very competative. Alright McGrady, earn that 19 mil.

Seems like the sky has fallen! The worst news to wake up to. I was expecting to hear about Barry. However, I don't think our chances are over. It's time for Scola and Landry to play more minutes. With Yao gone, this team really has no pressure. They are definitely expected to lose now. So as long as they keep fighting and not mope, I have faith. Good luck to Yao and Rockets.

    What's Wrong With Being Small?

    What's Wrong With Being Small?

I don't get it. Why do I keep seeing people bringing up size? What's wrong with Scola starting? He's as tall a Ben Wallace! And if Wallace can rebound better than most centers, size really doesn't mean much here. It's important if the difference in height between Scola and the other centers were like a foot. But come on now, most centers are only 2 or 3 inches taller than him.
