Well, it's worse than that... he's also boring and predictable. We've addressed the Krugman/Enron charge several times on this board, yet there's basso, keeping our feet to the fire on a non-issue that has nothing to do with the current discussion.

This hubrisfest of a thread is a good place for this list:

Dick Morris, Fox News commentator, November 4: “A deathblow to ObamaCare.”

    – Fred Barnes, Fox News commentator, January 20: “The health care bill, ObamaCare, is dead with not the slightest prospect of resurrection.”

    – Robert A. Levy, chairman of the Cato Institute, January 26: “That’s why Obamacare is dead.”

    – Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Minority Whip, February 24: “Speaker Pelosi doesn’t have the votes in the House. . . . It is futile for for them to continue to try and push something on the American people that frankly won’t result in better health care.”

    – Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK), March 3: “I think the votes are not there and I don’t see where we get them.”

    – Cantor, March 5: “Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have the votes needed to pass a health-care bill in the House of Representatives.”

    – Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), Minority Leader, March 14: “If she had 216 votes, this bill would be long gone. They tried to pass it in September, October, November, December, January, February. Guess what? They don’t have the votes.”

    – Boehner, March 17: Health care reform will pass “over my dead body.”

    – Cantor, March 19: “[T]here’s no way they can pass this bill.”

    more wingnut rage --

    – Right-wing radio host Neal Boortz tweeted that “Nancy Pelosi will be grinning and laughing” following the health care vote, which “will do more damage than 9/11.” [3/21/10]

    – Conservative blogger and and CNN contributor Erick Erickson bemoaned that “Democrats voted to put people in jail who have no insurance, raise the costs of health care, destroy the federal government’s bond rating, [and] keep unemployment high.” [3/21/10]

    – Libertarian blogger Megan McArdle warned that “we wake up in a different political world” following the health care vote. She lamented, “Are we now in a world where there is absolutely no recourse to the tyranny of the majority?” [3/21/10]

    – Fox News host Glenn Beck said on his radio show today that “Jesus Martinez” might support the health care bill, but “not the Jesus of Nazareth I know.” [3/22/10]

    – Bill Kristol compared the passage of the health care bill to Napoleon Bonaparte’s Russia campaign, in which the former dictator was initially victorious but eventually beaten back. Kristol predicts that Obama’s “Waterloo will be November 6, 2012.” [3/22/10]

    – Conservative talker Rush Limbaugh said on his show this morning that America is now “hanging by a thread” and that “our freedom has been assaulted.” [3/22/10]

even if you disagree with this bill, you have to admit that made it all pretty much worth it.

Oh yeah - the Senate Bill will be law tomorrow with or without the reconciliation bill. If the Senate doesn't pass the reconciliation bill, the House will be pissed off, but that's about it.

It's possible to get parts of HCR stopped from being implemented temporarily if a judge grants a Temporary Restraining Order, but I imagine it's not very likely at all. There's not really any substance to the lawsuits that will be filed - it's more political nonsense.

As Obama passes more bills of size and importance, I begin to wonder when they'll outright incite riots rather than pussyfoot around it.

i like Bill Kristol, he writes and speaks well, but i think he's wrong here- the Republicans do not have a Kutuzov at their disposal.

    Stalingrad is the better analogy.

Not quite. You have a bunch of guys who fancy themselves Zhukov and try to enforce discipline like he did, but you have nobody who comes close to his strategic thinking.

And by the way... You're despicable for once again trying to compare Dems to Nazis.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the Russians won at Stallingrad? Yeah, a whole lotta Russians were killed, and close to 50% of the male population of Eastern Russia was killed, but they still won. Of course, my Russian history lessons consist of History channel at 10 when I'm half awake so I am probably wrong on this.

Regardless, I think the conservatives could make the classic mistake democrats make all the time: assume that the win is in the bag. Yeah, there will be a conservative swing coming, but I don't think it'll be too big of a swing. I hope in the end this helps to tranquilize conservatives a bit. In the past 10 years it seems like if you ever disagree with a conservative they call you a terrorist, an America hater and the anti-christ. Democrats are not as violent in their language. Look, I'm as down the middle as a person can be. I believe in the death penalty and abortion, evolution and God, internet piracy and content restriction... but lately I've been more on the side of the dems than the republicans. Half my republican friends unfriended me on facebook because they feel that my views are too radical and anti-American. If anything, I hope this vote feeds the Republicans some humble pie laced with Ritalin and prosaic. Who knows, maybe I'll vote red once again? I will be voting against McCain down here tho...

I think this really depends on where you are. I'm in Austin and I've seen many liberals suggest that all Christians should be killed so they can go to Heaven and leave Earth to them.

I'm a Liberal and I haven't seen one say that.

Besides, do you really want to get in a battle over this? I can throw out Bill-O, Hannity, Coulter, Rush, etc. quotes until the cows come home... real documented quotes. Not hearsay.
