Today we struck a blow for the middle class people of America, the people who make up the majority of our country. This is change we can believe in.

If HCR leads to 50 ways to run around and make people cry, and people got 50 ways to wonder why, then HCR is chloroform...But you are right in that we don't know everything yet,...

For some reason the taste of this is sweeter than I had previously imagined.

The Republican's were right. This was Obama's Waterloo. They just didn't realize that they were playing the role of the French.

But hey, at least it's alcohol.

    More, please.

    I'm not even buzzing yet.

I can't wait for this to take effect...I will be excited to hear the many stories from people taken care of by HCR in a positive way.

Seriously, when does the ball drop? ASAP Please!

What we got was real, solid progress, aimed at the people who need it. As some old "friends" of mine are apt to say, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you might find... you get what you need.

Mojorge and the wingnutters are going to subvert this health care reform by preemptively "rescissinding" themselves when they get sick.

No Universal thing as hoped by the weirdos, but HCR was overdo...I only hope this isn't an eventual run down government program like we often see.

But it makes for great beer talk no doubt.

Please excuse my arrogance, because I don't know much about these kind of things. Not a fan of this bill. With that said, I read that the republicans will make the dem. pay in November. Lets say the republicans do take over the seats. There is nothing they can do by then right? Once a bill is passed you can't change it or get rid of it I'm I correct?

I assume you meant ignorance instead of arrogance. Nothing will get changed even if the GOP takes both houses of congress because Obama would veto any changes they passed.

It will be after the election in 2012 before the GOP can reasonably hope to repeal this legislation. But in the interim, the courts will be busy, as there will be many lawsuits. Obama will have to lose his re-election bid for this legislation to be formally overturned, which certainly needs to happen. While that is not a far-fetched prospect by any means, the Republicans will have to put up a compelling candidate for President in 2012 and win the presidency before that can happen. A clone of John McCain/Bob Dole/George H. W. Bush will not satisfy.

But the bloom is of the rose for Obama, so there will be no reruns of the "hope and change" campaign of 2008. Obama will have to run on his record, which will include his role in ramming through this health care bill. His role here will be regarded as a huge negative by the American people in 2012. If the Republicans can nominate someone the people are fired up about, unlike McCain/Dole/ H.W. Bush, then a repeal of major portions of this vile bill can certainly be achieved after the elections in 2012. And that objective will definitely be a focal component of the Republican agenda over the next three years.

The first parts of the bill will take place 90 days after it is passed into law.

Not to mention small business owners who seem to be the big winners from this bill.
