I'm a young adult and don't follow Politics like I should.

Is this his proposal which intends to implement rougher taxes on the wealthy ?

    "Baby killer"?!?

Stupak is a "baby killer"?

Are there really no depths to which the Republicans will sink in order to make Obama look bad?

The difference between the GOP and Democrats summarized. Dems care about governing. You care about elections.

This action is going to be litigated, resisted, subverted, opposed, contradicted, subverted, sabotaged, contested, disputed, demonized, ridiculed, circumvented, pissed on, attacked, sabotaged and undermined to a degree that we have not seen, probably since the civil war. And as well it should be. This was not a legitimate action by our government, and as such, it should surprise no one to see it opposed by almost any means available, possibly even including civil disobedience.

If you guys think this is over yet, you have another think coming. It is not how you start, but how you finish that counts. And for the Democrats here today, this is just the start. Obama has with this action positioned himself to become the most divisive figure in U.S. history since Abraham Lincoln, but without the moral authority.

This action was imposed upon the American people contrary to their will. As a result, accountability for this overreach is very certainly in order.

Yes, just like the medicare bill to cover the elderly which the Republicans were against as well at the time. Guess we will see in a few years how this plays out. Time will be the judge on this issue.

Democrats may drop some seats in 2010, but if this bill is anything like medicare, Republicans will suffer for decades.

I think it is almost certain that Dems will drop some seats in 2010.

The whole against America's will thing is getting old.

First of all in the most recent polls it was pretty much even.

Secondly, if you asked about the individual parts of the health care bill the majority of the American people were in favor of them.

The Republican lies and misinformation about what was in the bill succeeded in turning opinion against it for a while, but now we can move on.

You do realize the majority of the American people voted for a President who ran on a strong platform of universal health care? Just because you and Sarah Palin were able to scare a few people into your line of thinking does not mean that the majority of Americans are against it.

    Breaking News

House passes health care reform, the most sweeping social legislation in more than four decades.

Now that it's official someone should make a poll about this, I tried but didn't know how.....

This is such stupid bull****. The majority of Americans either supported the bill or felt it didn't go far enough. Those who felt it went too far were in the clear minority. Your side is in for the b****slapping of a lifetime. And it will last that long too. You backed the wrong horse, bro. HCR is the next Medicare or SS. And standing against it in lockstep will be an albatross around the Republicans' necks for the foreseeable future.

Seriously you are calling for civil disobedience? Like refusing to obtain health insurance. Well for your sake I hope you don't get hurt while undertaking your civil disobedience.

I have no doubt this bill will be challenged but I strongly suspect such legal challenges will fail. The bill was passed according to the Constitution which empowers the Houses of Congress to decide their own rules.

I find your historical comparison interesting considering Lincoln's opponents said the exact same thing about Lincoln.

Keep in mind that Obama did win an election campaigning on this issue and so did most of the Democrats in office now. This wasn't some unexpected surprise.

I'm not surprised. This bill shows once again proves the adage that two things people don't like seeing made is sausage and legislation.

I wouldn't put much stock in a tracking poll now as a predictor of where longterm public opinion will be, or even as a determiner of what happens in the Nov. elections. Once the bill starts getting implemented we will have a better sense of where people actually stand on the provisions of the legislation itself rather than the process.
