Let me give it a try. Eddie Griffin Strengths: Length, shot-blocking, rebounding (despite thin frame), athleticism (i.e. quick leaper) Weaknesses: Ball-handling, shooting, lack of size\strength, inexperience Report: Be physical, push him out on the floor, make every offensive move a strong one. Take him out of the game early (particularly on the boards), will try to contribute early to get himself going (typical of young players), loses confidence easily. No threat to drive or create. Not much of a shooter despite his range. Big potential, but too green & raw to be more than just a role player at this point. Whether he wants to be a star or not is up to him. James Posey Strengths: Length, speed, wants to play defense, great finisher, can hit some big shots & make plays Weaknesses: Inconsistent shot\form, good at a lot of things but not great at any one thing, could improve ball-handling Report: Play off & test his inconsistent jumper. Still working on shooting form, which isn't good at this stage of his development. More slasher than creator, no mid-range game. Test his post defense (granted, he played some PF in college), he's a little on the thin side, see if you can get physical with him. Classic tweener, can do a lot of things but doesn't have that one great skill a la Bird\shooting touch, Magic\court vision, etc. Destined to be a solid role player, is more than just a specialist. Houston has a good history with role-playing swingmen who can make key plays & big shots. (Mario Elie, anyone?)
Very nice reports! With your description of Eddie though...I don't know why he should be starting! His attitude needs to be changed! Maurice Taylor Strengths: Offense. Shooting. Passing. Drawing Double Teams. Trashtalking . Weaknesses: Height and Agility because of his injuries. Report: "- single coverage on Mo when he's outside the paint, quick double when he gets too close to the rim" Mo is a scorer with an automatic jump hook from the right side of the court. Unstoppable. He is not afraid. He is not soft. He likes to talk a lot on the court. He is short and can't jump so just shoot over him. He has good defensive positioning though so you can't really get past him...his rebounding is decent for a power forward.
