A lot of scouts also didn't draft Lin's o their opinion of him is irrelevant. I'll take Morey over a scout any day

Depends on what metric you use, but in general the Rockets were in the range of 15-22 grouping on a curve which isn't very good. My guess is they will be 10-15 with just normal improvement which is a massive improvement for one off season. Especially if the Rockets offense has only a mild drop in pace.

I am more optimistic. The Rockets were 7th defensively with Asik on the court last season. We will see. Going to be a fun season. Cheers!

How does a team scout not know that Garcia took less to stay and has an implied no trade clause because of it?

I hope Lin is reading this because, he's not alone. A lot of sports writers think he can't be a starter. I hope he gets in that gym (day and night) and prove them wrong.

What the writer wrote should be in past tense.

Dwight was unmotivated. But that's when he was playing for the Lakers.
Harden couldn't defend to save his life. But that's when he was having the team on his back on offense.
About Parsons, there is no denying he is a product of the team.
Lin sucked at shooting in the first half of last season. Playmaking? At least he has been a willing playmaker.
Asik is going to be traded? If anyone, Lin would be first.

When Suns had Nash and Stoudemire in the mid 2000's, both were at prime of their career and made it to all star multiple times. 2006 both were All NBA First Team. Suns were seeded #1 or 2 in WC playoffs for three straight years 2004-07.

Our offense is similar to the Suns in many ways; score lots of points and highly efficient at it, #1 in pace, and NO consistent mid-range game.

Suns were built for regular season.

This fool is a scout? lol ..I could scout better than this guy. Rockets are a contender even tho they have some things to fix, like post entry-passes. But make no mistake Rockets are a dangerous team and contender.

NBA scouts in 2010: "Lin doesn't look like an NBA basketball player"

    Enough said.

To be honest, I don't disagree much with the details of what this scout said. The level of conviction of Howard, the ceiling of Parsons, etc. are all questions I have of this team at this point.

I'm more positive of the chances of things working out, though. And I have a bit more faith that Lin could be a starter on a good team.

But overall, the scout has legitimate reasons for doubt IMO.

The Suns lacked any defensive presence inside and the offense was entirely predicated on Nash penetration and decision making. I don't really think the Rockets offense and Suns offense are similar at all other than pace.
