Damn, they do pay well. But bassmaster, satire is exposing pomposity and hypocrisy with truth and the greater good. It doesn't work unless you have the true higher moral ground. That's why there are no funny conservatives.
Absolutely disagree. You're opening the door for a myriad of legal challenges on the basis of freedom of religion. Ironically, the conservative court felt the least religiously intrusive way to protect access to these medical procedures and drugs is for the government to pay for and offer contraceptive services to all citizens. That was the sneakiest win of this entire thing. Sign me up for Scaliacare!
Generic birth control runs about 4 bucks a month from walmart, CVS, etc. Might save billions on abortions.
This isn't what they said at all. Again, you should read the decision. Thanks for the insult by the way.
Seconded. Unless I have to take my corporation to fun fair play soccer when it is 6, this whole line of reasoning by scotus is ridiculous.
A tragic ruling indeed. Honestly, I feel that birth control is our biggest tool in combating the crime rate and to boost the economy. Less unwanted pregnancies = young people staying in school longer and having more financial stability. Birth control and sex education are of the utmost importance and have long-reaching effects.
Where's the part about it applying to businesses and corporations? Or are we to assume that a law written primarily so Native Americans could smoke peyote during their ceremonies was also aimed at corporate persons?
The largest growing group in the united states find birth control religiously offensive so I wouldn't be on that working out.
When corporations kill people. . . .. we don't execute them In fact they are rarely significantly threaten their existence No Corporation should have the same or MORE RIGHTS than humans. Rocket River

It also creates a huge incentive to not privatize, which could have great impacts in the future. Like campaign spending, the righties on the court convinced themselves (or pretended to) that we live in a fantasy land where nothing bad will come from such a narrow ruling. Strict constructionists my ass. At least the founding fathers were hard-core realists. I wonder what Koch Industries will now do now? Hey the big guy righties have their plans to have complete domination of all aspects of our lives by corporations. Little guy righties like to think they are cool "libertarians" and they are supporting the charge. This gradual step approach is how we got to the whole corportions as citizens and their First Amendment Rights to buy elections with unlimited money. One step at a time.
Again, this isn't really true. Can you give an example of a related legal challenge that could come as a result of this decision?
