    No.

Except that wasn't the logic the SC used. Articles like this make me wonder if the authors actually bothered to learn anything about the opinion or just wanted an opportunity to ramble about some mythical scary issue. It's no different than the nonsense the crazy right throws out there every time the Democrats pass a law.

First, the fact that were limiting it to what Hobby Lobby, a closely held corporation, "believes' or opposes in a moral/ethical/religious sense is pretty awesome in and of itself and pretty much the antithesis of why state corporation law exists at all.

But anyhow, there are many religious & social conservatives who oppose all forms of "nonnatural" birth control, the Catholic church being the most prominent one that comes to mind (not to mention that 4 of the 5 in Hobby Lobby majority are catholics, at least 1, and probably more, are of the arch-conservative, pre Vatican 2 era variety); or if they don't outright "oppose" it, whatever that means, are behind stupid things like "Abstinence only" sex ed - so it's by no means a fabrication to acknowledge that religious conservatives are generally more hostile to birth control than their more liberal peers.

So do you think Ruth Bader Ginsburg didn't understand the ruling?

Wow really? So Justice Ginsburg and the dissenters, Professor Tribe and all those others who disagree with Hobby Lobby on similar gorounds are basically no different from nutjobs rambling on about Benghazi or PPACA truthers or Climate Change denialists?

That's just stupid. You know better than that.

The pattern of the Roberts court is to define an issue "narrowly" then plunge into the gap and insert right wing views in subsequent cases and expand it.

Alito has made no secret of his views on expanding religious protections and protections for corporate persons - why should we doubt him?

Here's another opinion of the Supreme Court's 5-4 ruling, by a Federal Judge appointed by George Herbert Walker Bush, former Republican President of the United States:

(CNN) -- The Supreme Court is used to having its decisions publicly criticized, but rarely in R-rated language spouted by a federal judge, who says the justices should just "stfu."

The remarks come from Nebraska-based Judge Richard Kopf, who has a reputation for provocative commentary on his personal blog.

Kopf, an appointee of President George H.W. Bush, criticized the high court's ruling last week in the so-called "Hobby Lobby" case.

The decision gave some for-profit businesses the right to deny birth control coverage to their employees if they opposed on religious grounds. The 5-4 decision against a provision of Obamacare was predictably divided in public opinion.

The senior judge made clear his views on Saturday.

"Five male Justices of the Supreme Court, who are all members of the Catholic faith and who each were appointed by a President who hailed from the Republican party, decided that a huge corporation, with thousands of employees and gargantuan revenues, was a 'person' entitled to assert a religious objection to the Affordable Care Act's contraception mandate because that corporation was 'closely held' by family members," he wrote. "To the average person, the result looks stupid and smells worse."

And he went further. "Next term is the time for the Supreme Court to go quiescent-- this term and several past terms has proven that the court is now causing more harm (division) to our democracy than good by deciding hot button cases that the court has the power to avoid. As the kids say, it is time for the Court to stfu."

Via Twitter, I asked Holly what she thought about the whole controversy, and this is what she had to say:

“Aggressive pride? Our flag represents freedom, so I stood in front of it, it was July 4!”
    *
“The Bible and gun represent our first and second amendment rights, also representing our freedom.”
    *
“I think the person who made the meme is the very reason we have the Constitution. Our Founders were smart men and they knew eventually this sort of thing would happen. Anyone who matters didn’t give that meme a second thought.”

Love that meme. Most Christians in America don't believe in freedom of Religion, they believe in freedom to force everyone else to follow there Religion.

Not only does the SC say corporations are people but now they can hold Religious beliefs....just amazing.

A muslim stands in front of there flag, with a gun and the Kuran and white american losses there ****. But if it is a white person with a Bible, it is all good. Muslim commits violence, terrorist is shouted and all muslims are lectured to condem. A white guy blows up a planned parenthood, they just were not real Christians.

Also the right b****ed about Obama care and how it had the government get between you and your doctor, but this decision is exactly that.

Ultimately . . . . no one has a problem with what Hobby Lobby is doing.

Corporations have been restricting what doctors and medicines you can see and have for DECADES!!
So what they doing is nothing new. It is no WAR ON WOMEN or anything. It is a corporation being a corporation.

I know several folx who have children or family members that their drugs or procedures was not covered by insurance. is that a WAR ON THEM?

The issue is their Rationale or the target. Which they did not have to even include except that the 'Mandate' which they needed an exception for. . . . .
I have my concerns about the mandate because when the next contraceptive wonder drug hits the market . . . will it be added? If not doesn't the mandate give those on it an unfair market advantage? What is the standard? I have my concerns but not enough to call the mandate out and out wrong.

Mention RELIGION we all fall into a tizzy. 'Pushing Religion" on someone - you are a zealot. Don't allow someone to "Push Science" on you - you are a nutcase. [See Vaccine Arguments]

One person's life advisor is God .. . the other is Bill Nye.
Why is there not room for both in this world.

Some Science thinks Chiropractors are dangerous . . so some insurance doesn't cover it.
Most people i know who use it swear by it . . . .Is this a WAR ON BACK PROBLEMS PEOPLE?

Is it because it is 'happening' to women?
I have watched people be dismissive of a man's problems [impotence . .i.e. the veiled references to viagra] as if they are unimportant and trivial or on the level of contraception
whereas if someone was to compare a condom to infertility people would lose their mind.
BTW - Why is no one b****ing about them not providing free condoms?

The main issue should be, IMO
    1. People have religious beliefs
    2. Corporations are not people
    3. Corporations cannot have religious beliefs

Time to totally dismantle this notion that corporations are people.
All the other stuff is distraction .

Way to generalize there brah! How many 'christians' do you know that support blowing up planned parenthood facilities? When was the last time that happened even? When was the last time some 'christian' church besides westboro or some other cult, preached from their pulpits to kill other people from other religions?

Now let's us ask another way. How many muslims around the world support destroying or killing other people that disagree with them? When was the last time Muslims killed or blew up a church? When was the last time a muslim imam (preacher) taught it was right to kill christians or even other muslims?

    Think long and hard.
