Still can't believe Kennedy voted to uphold affirmative action. Furthermore, Texas's top 10 percent rule provided a convenient out for conservatives who argue that there are race neutral ways to increase diversity. Kennedy had never voted in favor of affirmative action until today which is a crazy turn of events.
Yeah, I can't help but think her parents pushed her into this case. If she spent more time studying maybe she would have gotten in on her own merit.
Maybe she should've done a SWAT analysis before pursuing this case, her LSU teachings probably would've told her that it wasn't worth it.
That Lawyer is probably doing it for free. Getting to argue a case in supreme court is quite prestigious.
I'm sure some conservative organization is funding the bill. Fisher's family was just brought in so there would be some sort of standing for the case.
Somebody should counter-sue her for getting affirmative action in employment. http://www.uh.edu/~adkugler/Bertrand&Mullainathan.pdf "WE'RE COLOR BLIND YOU SEE--WE'VE DONE ENOUGH TO ADDRESS RACISM! BEGONE JAMAL, AND YOU ARE PROBABLY UNEMPLOYABLE".
ProPublica notes that her name only shows up five times in a brief that encompasses thousands of pages. This isn't and has never been about her. It's been about embracing a fantasy peddled by people who are offended at the mere insulation of remedying continuing discrimination.
No worries... as part of my job I write lots of SWOTs so I knew what you meant. Though I suspect that the subject of the discussion probably deserves a few swats too...
Justice Elena Kagan, who would most likely have voted with the majority, was recused from the case because she had worked on it as solicitor general.
You're wrong about your presumption. No, but neither does SV higher incompetents who can't analyze dataframes. Thanks for highlighting another instance of the systematic racism that dominates America.
So why couldn't these interest groups have found a better plaintiff than Abby Fisher? From what I read, she isn't exactly the kind of high achiever whose denial by U of T would have screamed unfairness to everybody.
yeah, I don't really trust you with being on-topic, and I don't really trust your analysis, logic, math, or spelling at this point, so you can go and do whatever this is in the Immigration and Jobs thread you left a few weeks ago. If you want to get on-topic, let me kindly point out you've attacked the messenger with a whole bunch of strawman assumptions, and reinforced the message. Thanks!
