"a network spokesman confirmed this week. The move by ABC Sports executives continues the biggest game of musical chairs currently going on in the sports television business. Since its inception four years ago, ABC's pregame has included Mike Tirico, Bill Walton, Tom Tolbert and Steve Jones."

I actually liked Pippen way better than anyone else they have doing halftime/Postgame comments. He has a point when he says something, isn't a sensationalist like Mark Jackson (Kobe will be the greatest bball player ever, etc.) I just wish the NBA would go back to NBC.

Why? The TNT crew is the best in the business. Ernie, Magic, Kenny and Charles. Nobody else is even worth watching.

Let me be the first to say:

I am pretty much befuddled by this move.

Completely right, but they only do games once a week during the regular season. ESPN/ABC does the rest of the coverage, which is awful. The TNT guys are the best sports related show on TV, Kenny is hilarious. Now that we're in the playoffs it seems like they cut to commercial every 15 seconds.

TNT had the NBA at the same time as NBC. It's ESPN and ABC that are owned by the same company and therefore have games together or don't have games together.

I miss Ernie, Kenny and Chuck doing the draft also. ESPN has pretty much decided to make the NBA draft a dumbed-down version of their NFL coverage, with Screamin A. Smith making a occasional, sensationalist commentary where he praises people who give him quotes and slams everybody else.

It's sad because the NBA draft is probably one of the most entertaining sporting events of the year.

He actually annoyed me as a commentator too. It wasn't as much as he annoyed me when he was playing, but he was still annoying. I am happy to see him cut.

That was quite possibly the worst post in the history of internet bulletin boards.

Sorry, just doing my Walton impression.

Bill Walton not only is an excellent basketball analyst, he is a tremendous human being. The grace and poise he brings to televised basketball is beyond all calculable value. He is simply proof of the existence of God.

i like walton - he annoyed me at first, but along w/ murph he is one of my favorite color commentators.

not many announcers have the passion for b-ball that he does.

Regardless of how good or bad of a commentator he is, I am happy to see him go. Really I just don't like him at all, after his dealings with the Rockets. I say "see ya' later scotie." oh that's right, I don't even like him enough to spell his name right.
