California has over 600 people on death row; the last execution was 2002. Do the math...death penalty opponents might have nothing to worry about. But the fact that he will suffer in prison for decades...while knowing that he has been sentenced to death...that it just might happen before he dies of old age...is the best justice available.
All of Peterson's lying pretty much doomed him. Didn't he say he went fishing on a lark, but he had pre-purchsed a fishing license? That crap about not entering Conner's room (how unbelievably sad ... he never got to even see it .. rest in peace little one ) , yet he had turned it into storage.

No one *deserves* to die, no matter what. Scott Peterson's wife and child didn't deserve it, and neither does Scott. Everyone knows that Scott Peterson is guilty, and it's a tragedy that 2 people died, but it's disgusting for people to decide that another person *deserves* to die. ....The death penalty is the same as murder in my book. actually, if you read the article, only one juror said that. and she had the responsibility of watching him react to testimony everyday in court. i'm sorry..but when you're charged with an ice in your veins crime like murdering your pregnant wife and covering it up...your demeanor in court will speak to the jury. it just will. the ice cold response to allegations of killing your wife...that compounded with the evidence in the case may have been enough for someone. i've yet to hear one person who sat through this trial say, "wow..i can't believe the jury reached this conclusion."
Scott Peterson's getting off lucky. It's far worse to get locked up for life and get ass pounded in jail on a daily basis. I'll take a painless lethal injection any day then that alternative.
I agree. 10 people since 1978 and 650 ahead of him - it would have been cheaper and more efficient to have given him life w/out parole.
Is that like: "Penalties offset, replay down"???? I don't like the death penalty either. I'd like to have it if the prosecuted one had done something to a kid. Man, that's a NO NO in my book. You don't touch kids or females, you pig. Death penalty only in extreme cases, but not for EVERYTHING. I can't figure out what can be excluded right now. I know it is for when a peace officer, capital offense, or genicide is commited. Please, not death penalty. It's barbaric and... ok, they get what they deserve. It was a BABY, for cryin' out loud...
