It's funny, but this was a perfect situation for the league. They got an unfocused Rockets team, refs officiated a solid game even with one of the most hated refs and the Warriors win. The focus will probably shift away from the refs now and business will continue as usual. As a fan, I'm disappointed with the lack of effort and focus. Oh well.
As I said in the game thread. Amazing what the refs can do when the magnifying glass is on them and honesty is demanded of them. Rockets should have raised the alarm before game 1.
Still no excuse for all the careless TO's. Even without Harden, they were still within striking distance. They kept shooting themselves in the foot with the TO's. Doesn't even take into account all the 2nd chance opportunities GSW got
No, you can’t blame him. But that doesn’t undo the fact that they took Game 1 away from the Rockets. All those 3 point foul shots they didn’t call and the Rockets win Game 1 with just making less than half of them. Game 2 doesn’t make up for taking away Game 1. This series should be tied. That’s what’s disheartening.
Scott Foster is good no doubt he does the bidding of the NBA. If he ref'd all our games like this we wouldnt have a problem
This game actually shows how they're very good when they want/can. Too bad this is not the standard..
I gotta admit, I'm pretty impressed by the craftiness of the League. As I said in another thread, I expected the game to be called extremely fairly, and it was. Even maybe a little lopsided towards running up Golden State's fouls. Foster is an experienced ref that knows how to call a game however he wants it, including straight and narrow. I think that's the primary reason he was there: the League wanted a game called really well to ice all the heat from the first game reffing. Sending the Rockets' most hated ref to do it not only kills two birds with one stone, it vaporizes them. The reffing controversy will be effectively dead now in the media and will be for a long while. Really fast and clean damage control. Quite impressive.
