I'd rather a close game, myself... However, like I said earlier, I hope this game inspires the Texans, from top to bottom, management to players, by letting them know what it feels like to not have your destiny in your own hands, to have it in somebody elses and I hope it inspires them to take care of business next year, no excuses, and just get it done. Get rid of the trash, get rid of the excuses, just get it done.
donny, don't blame the longhorn players. Jammal charles and derrick johnson were doing their best to help the texans. the bengals are sitting cedric.
Anybody else remember the Oilers blowing out the Bills at the dome on Sunday Night football at the end of one season, and everybody pretty much writing off Buffalo for the wild card game that was gonna be the following week in Buffalo? Anybody else remember how that went? Anyone... ???? (crickets chirping).
=( The Bills and Oilers had faced each other for the final game of the regular season, with Houston defeating Buffalo, 27–3 in Houston. During that game, Bills starting quarterback Jim Kelly suffered strained ligaments in his knee, leaving backup quarterback Frank Reich to finish the game in his place. With Kelly out, Reich took the reins starting in place of Kelly the following week in the wild card game. Buffalo hosted. Reich also started the following divisional playoff game in Pittsburgh in which Buffalo also won 24–3, then advancing to the AFC Championship game the following week versus the Miami Dolphins.
Poor decision by the Bengals. Unfortunate for the Texans and very fortunate for the Jets that both the Colts and Bengals laid down for them (Though the Jets are probably better than the Bengals).
They would also have to issue out discipline to the New York Giants and bad teams who have stopped playing by the end of the year. It would create to big of an issue.
There have been some Roganesque moments of comedy this season. Kris Brown's kicks. Cincy's effort. 7 yds total offense? Kubiak doing just enough to make firing him a controversial decision, despite everyone knowing he is not the coaching solution, especially in an offseason with multiple pedigreed available coaches.
Everything happens for a reason. We can't go to 1-5 in the division and expect to make the playoffs. Btw, screw you Colts!!
If by North Shore, you mean the North Shore Pee Wee league Patriots, then yes, that's who I was referring to.
That was one of the most ugly, pathetic, and embarassing first halfs of football I have ever seen in over 20 years. The Bengals are an embarrasment to the themselves, the NFL, and mankind. END RANT
Adding insult to losing playoff berth to Jets is that we will probably wind up picking BEHIND Jets in the draft!!! I seem to remember the tiebraker being your opponent's win % in determining draft seeding. So jets fan gets over again.
I was referring to the North Shore Mustangs, I think it is, from Galena Park ISD, but your pick is just as good...
I can't stand how they are acting like the Jets are playing great ... at least call it what it is and leave it at that. The Texans put themselves in this position so its still their own fault, but man this is hard to watch.
The passion we felt for the Houston Oilers then is the same as what we feel for the Houston Texans currently. That's why I can't understand why you hate.
moot point, the draft is not the texans weak point. they draft better than teams 10 spots ahead of them.
Don't worry about that. They'll end up taking some Lineman for West Texas A and M, and we'll get our guy. I can't go to sleep on my Texans, though. Turning this game off would be doing just that. Let's hope the Bengals are in the locker room right now, embarrassed, bitter, and just plain pissed off. Hopefully they'll come out with some quick points. My opinion: Doubt it.
