how in god's name did the Jets lose 7 games? This is easily the best football team I've watched this year. WTF!! greatest running game in the history of football?
Exactly because then they would have to penalize every team that just plain out sucks. No way you can penalize or force teams to play their starters.
I got their flaws. It lies on the roster. Kris Brown/Chris Brown. Don't see to many other big problems.
If it happened in the NBA (with this amount of backlash), like if the Lakers have 69 wins with 5 games left and rest Kobe, Pau, Odom, & Bynum for the rest of the season, I'm sure Stern would fine the team a whole heck of a lot. I'm sure Goodall, could if he wanted. I mean look at the stand he has taken against NFL players with off the field issues. The sad thing is that the money is the biggest thing, and the NFL still makes money even when teams do this because most of the tickets are previously bought and the the networks contract pays them already. In fact, the Welker injury today will now swing things back to "we should protect the players" and now make them play if not necessary, justifying throwing games.
Does anybody think the Bengals will even reach 10 points tonight? Oh well, at least the Texans made it interesting.
Palmer admitted before the game he'd rather face the Jets over the Texans come playoffs since we man handled them. It's showing. Hmmmm, face our high powered offense and growing D, or face the Jets, their horrible rookie QB and have a whole week to prepare a game plan after watching how they play tonight. Shocker. I WILL be rooting for the Jets next weekend. Now my nerves have to get ready for Thursday night. Sucks having to take a vacation day in the first damn week of the year, but a win will be sooo worth it. Hook 'Em!
LMAO @ my brother, the Bengals fan trying to defend their performance tonight. It's a sad excuse for an NFL team. I could go on and on about this, but I'll just say this: The way the Bengals are playing right now, they'd get beat by Navy....
The thing is, is if the Texans didn't show so many signs of life late in the year, then I wouldn't care, you know? The Texans have basically conditioned me to be completely apathetic towards all of their heart-breaking losses, because I've basically come to expect them. I know there were many times that the Texans should've taken care of business, and that they could've been in complete control of their own destiny, but the thing is is that's not how it turned out. How it DID turn out, is that a couple of other teams had to win, and it looks this final team isn't going to. For so long, it's been all about the Texans shooting themselves in the foot, and now watching ANOTHER team piss away our chance, with our fate in their hands is just as disappointing. YES I realize that we had our chances, but I'm just saying, the way things have turned out up to this point, it's still disappointing. I don't play the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" game. I am not a revisionist. However, living in THIS moment, our team taking THESE odds, is just as much a downer.
No reliable running game (even with Foster, nothing is a given for next year), spotty pass protection, nothing from the defensive tackle spot, terrible pass rush, below average secondary, terrible kicker, terrible punter. The ONLY thing this team is set at is QB, LB, and WR's (even though that is largely based on AJ being awesome, and assuming OD can come back from injury ok).
I swear to god I remember there were several ways to stop the run, especially with a god awful QB like Sancheaz. I mean, Jets are doing nothing but RUN, and the Bengals are bending over and taking it. Easily the most frustrating game I've ever watched, WTF!
