Ok it was somewhat of a longshot. How about somewhat less than the chance of Jamarcus Russell being a productive QB for the rest of his career? I will concede since we consider the scenario that was the most likely is gone now with the Ravens taking that slot.
If the Texans would have beat the Jets in Reliant stadium the first game of the year like they should have then it would be a mute point.Sure we can blame the Colts but when we point a finger at them we still have 3 fingers pointing back at us.Lets just hope the Jets choke against Cincy and then we can celebrate.I really think if the Texans make the playoffs they will make some noise. The last 2 years the Texans have seemed to play their best football at the end of the season.
Come on bengals don't let these guys get in by giving this game to them like the colts did...you will always lose the rematch
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/gamecenter/preview/NFL_20100103_CIN@NYJ "The Bengals need a victory and have New England to lose to Houston to claim the No. 3 seed, but a loss to the Jets would create a rematch between the teams in Cincinnati next week. Despite that possibility, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis doesn't feel his team can go anything less than full speed in order to enter the playoffs in the right frame of mind. 'This team can't turn it on and off,' he told the Bengals' official Web site. 'It's not old enough, it's not mature enough. We started the season as the second-youngest team in the NFL. I don't think we've gotten older over the season. Some of our older players are no longer playing.'" Good news?
He still has a good point. But when 22% of a play-off teams wins come against teams resting their starters, thats not a good thing. Pittsburgh is on the outside looking in, and they won 9 games against teams that were trying to pull out all the stops. You might argue the Texans got a free win, but the Patriots played all their healthy guys except that last series after Houston was up a TD with just under 2 min.
there's like 180 viewing this texans, astros, dynamo forum, haven't seen this many since the world series. I'm ordering pizza just to watch this cincy v jets game.
Aye same here. Here is an example of its use here. http://musingsfromcleveland.blogspot.com/2008/11/jesse-jackson-in-question-is-moot.html
I don't know about that. Jets: Best Defense in the league. Great Pass Defense. Revis can take best WR out of the game (and without Henry, may he RIP, the Bengals don't that many scary options receiving wise.) Above-average against the run. Special Teams are solid. Feely does not have a great leg, but is very solid even with 40 yd FG's. Punter is avg to above average. Return game is dangerous. Offense has one of the best rushing attacks in the league. Lots of good receiving options. As long as Sanchez does not try to do too much or they get far behind, Sanchez can manage the game and perform well. He is the key. Texans: Defense is average. Has played better recently, but still spotty. Above-average against the run, particularly recently. Pass defense is still one of the worst in the league. No true shut down cornerback. Special Teams is now shaky. We do have above average punter/punt returning. However, no one has faith in Brown right now. KO returns are average, but have not been that explosive this year. Offense boasts best passing offense. Subpar running game. Explosive at times, but can become completely out of sync at times for stretches.
So as I understand it, the Bengals are resting most of their starters. Is that correct? If this is the case than it is not looking good for us. Bengal fans do not seem to be too thrill with getting to play against Texans.
Until the Jets game begins, let's talk about how bad Jamarkus Russell is. Seriously, he is going to be one of the biggest first round draft busts of all time. How much did they pay him? I think the Raiders could have won that game without his colossal mistakes. I have a feeling that the Bengals are going to put it on the Jets and the Texans are going to play in the snow next week. Why would they want to just roll over and then face the Jets again next week. Also, isn't home field against playoff opponents still an issue?
