I cant believe this! This is so unbelievable! Mad Props to the former Astros Mike Hampton and Steve Finley for helping us out. Lets go Astros! Man I seriously dont even care about the Texans tomorrow and I love my football too.

well... techinically, the Yankees just clinched the AL East on a walk-off earlier in the week.

But, if you're referring to "clinched against the team that's chasing them", or "clinched in the final week when the outcome was still in doubt."

    Also...for more ex-Astro karma.

Octavio Dotel gave up the winning hit in the Oakland-Anaheim game (but wasn't credited for the loss because it was Rincon's man on base).

Provided they win today & tomorrow, when do the Stros start the playoffs? If they start Wednesday, They'll probably start the Rocket tomorrow to clench. Any word on that yet?

Check the Astros Rockies thread for more info, but from what I understand game 1 would be Wednesday and The Rocket is going to start tommorrow.

Back to the SF @ LA game, I cannot believe that they lost like that. I guess they don't have a Lidge. ;)

He's going to have to put some ice or a cold spoon on that thing if he doesn't want to wear a turtleneck under his jersey tommorow.

I was at the game...right behind the Astros dugout...and the place went nuts when they put the yellow three up in the bottom of the ninth in the old school scoreboard. It seemed like forever before they changed it. "What was going on?" the sold out crowd was thinking. then they went to the total tally and pulled out the zero from the Dodgers line...and put a seven in! The Ball park went IN F'N SANE! It was totally unreal...easily the coolest sporting event I have ever been to.

    What a night!

I'll be there for the Rocket tomorrow!

Not to ruin your Rocket experience, but I hope Roger gets lifted when the Astros score 10 in the bottom of the first..

Looks like winning the division is an orgasmic experience. Pun intended.
