Well these two had a good year, but overall, the lack of coaching and defense really hurt. And I nailed my prediction....woot! DD
Unless you buried your head in the sand, you could see that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened again
That some of us hoped he would be the type of player this team could flourish with should never be mistaken with supporting domestic violence. The attempts to villainize the people who supported him and hoped he could move past his demons is missing the point among this fanbase and everyone's desire for a contending team only to further nurture the division this place seems to thrive on. That anyone on the management staff should hold responsibility for his actions is absurd. I will always refute the CFans logic that says anyone who has made mistakes in the past will make them again. Thats too convenient of an argument when news like this breaks and discredits all the people who have been able to overcome poor decision making and find success in life.
Hey man you and I debated about KPJ vs Green before if I recall but no one should criticize you because of hindsight like this. You aren't a bad judge of moral character because you wanted to give KPJ another chance.
Most people who thought KPJ was not good for the team didn't think he would be a gf-beater I'm sure. But there's always a case for pattern and ANY professional athlete that makes millions of dollars with a bad attitude is most likely not subject to change much. It's like expecting an addict to stop doing drugs. People like that don't change often, and ones with money hardly EVER change. Even if it means it would cost them millions more. Not yours or anyone else's fault for supporting though.
This is an indefensible situation and its being treated as such from KPJs fans, but the blowhards need their vindication. KPJ let the people who believed in him down more than anyone else. I dont regret supporting him one iota and I'll never be ashamed for that.
I dont agree with you. Not all drug addicts stay drug addicts. You cant correlate bad attitudes and throwing food into becoming a wife beater. Our society teaches us that cheating on your wife is OK, but beating her up is not. That is where we are at and KPJ should have known that. This is ALL ON HIM and while those who never believed in him can take their victory lap the lashing out at those who genuinely cared about him and hoped for the best is just a test on the limits of decency and what people can put up with and the mistaken need to have constant reassurance that THEIR worldview is the right one. There is no room for violence in our society that needs to be a constant and KPJ needs to be made an example of to remind everyone of that.
except he's already had history of assault on women. it wasn't just suddenly from food thrower to assault. they're all part of it all which folks have listed from the beginning
Of course there are people who can resist... but MOST addicts don't change because they can't find the root of the issue or choose not to make changes to alleviate that behavior. Again, no fault on anyone here who hoped he could change because people always need support from somewhere.
Cool. I'll make sure to correlate throwing food and defending family members in fights to future domestic violence charges. Should make it easy to peg people moving forward.
I continue to believe in the good of man. I've seen success stories created from the ashes of peoples lives. I suppose that is my toxic trait.
yeah if you're listing literally all the troubled history for one person well, it's actually using some common sense. but folks on CF's choose to turn the other cheek
So what will be the next crime KPJ commits? If you guys saw this coming then surely you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Im genuinely curious.
i mean if it isn't jail time, at this point it doesn't matter. him putting on a rockets uni to play isn't ever happening again.
