I can't wait till the first intense game, where the other team pisses ours off. I hope James and Francis are both on the floor.
man i can wait to see francis back on the court in rocket red i get emotional just thinking about it. this team is looking like it could be something special we just need to keep our fingers crossed on health. the front court (4/5) is a bit thin but our two probable starters (yao/scola) are a great combo. what will be nice to see this year is tmac getting some rest without a total drop off in productivity of the team left on the floor. that will help him stay healthier and ready for the playoffs.
Give me a break. KG is one of the biggest losers in the NBA yet people will still continue to give him a free pass every year. Why, exactly, beats the hell out of me. It's just funny that T-Mac is every bit as talented and accomplished as him yet people will still continue to treat KG like he's GOD or something and act like T-Mac is just some overrated loser. I mean, afterall, KG has been out of the first round [once] and T-Mac hasn't. Right?! .....and i'll be sure to remember that Mike James isn't a "competant PG" in your eyes whenever January/February rolls around and the general consensus is that he's our best PG. I'll remember.....
I think the next two years will decide if everyone has been giving him a free pass or not. He has the talent around him now. If it still blows up in his face, then we know who to blame... and it ain't Rajon Rondo.
you're off topic, i never said scola was a vocal leader, i said hes passionate. which is exactly what leads him to "do everything he can to win" like you said and that my friend is a boo ya
Got to pick Francis for a vocal leader, he did it before. Only thing is that we do not want him to overdo it.
How am I off topic. You said that we lacked a vocal leader last year....and then go on to say how Scola's passion for the game is going to be so infectious and we really missed James "cockiness." You said that we lacked vocal leaders, but having James and Scola will make a difference. If you're claiming that you didn't say Scola was a vocal leader...why bring him and James up??? And if you meant only that James was the vocal leader and Scola was the guy playing with passion, then you were not very clear in your post. Also, do you really think James is a leader? My post was really more directed towards your example of James as a leader anyways.
KG has gotten more than his fair share of criticism in his career, just like McGrady. He did a lot to carry his team and it was not enough. As for Mike James, there is a reason why (1) he wasn't welcome back to Toronto after having a good fantasy stats sseason, and (2) he eventually got benched in Minny. As for KG's on/off court +/-: Neither his numbers or Rafer Alston's is a fluke. Both of them helped their teams when they are on the floor.
IMO, KG gets very little criticism since he's still one of the faces of the league. It's a little annoying to me since he's all numbers and no spine. As for Mike James, you should probably get your stories straight. 1) Nobody from the Raptors organization ever said he wasn't welcome back. It was a foregone conclusion that he was going to another team given all of his comments to the media about wanting to be paid and finding a new home. He already planned on signing elsewhere before the season was even over. 2) He never got "benched" in Minnesota. For about a couple weeks he was pulled from the starting lineup. I'm assuming that's what you're referring to. Regardless, he eventually returned to the starting lineup to finish the season since they lost almost every game that he didn't start. I don't want to detail this thread, though. So i'll just leave it at that.......
