I'll just wait till someone offers him 7m and the rockets don't match ;) . In all honesty, despite my persistence to trade scola, i really like he takes advantage of his chances. Unlike #31 who is so limited because of this or that, you have to guard scola. Just because i think 30 and and peaked isn't what i would build around, doesn't mean I don't like him as a player.

He is a player who is currently in his prime. He probably has about 3-4 good years left in him. And the Rockets plan is to win now (well by now I mean once Yao returns).

There was a game Olajuwon scored 49 points in the 1987 playoffs against the Sonics...anyone know how many fg's he had in that game?

Another interesting aside: during Scola's recent torrid play is that he hit 39 or so consecutive free throws. I think that has gone largely unnoticed.

That was a double OT game. He had 19 FG's from what I could find online.

He is like Kevin McHale with his footwork, it is probably the best in the league for a big.

Luis just is a good old fashioned efficient player.

We are lucky we have him.....give him a new deal for around 8 or 9 million and go back to war next year.

All hail the Passion Assassin - 2007 baby, we knew then !

Wow! This comparison is dead on. I have been wondering who among the players in the past had a relatively similar game to Scola. Thanks DD.

To make it even more ridiculous:

    - He is the only C in the top 20 scorers ever to not get a FTA.
    - He is the top scorer in the top 100 scorers without a FTA.
    - He is the 18th in minutes played among eligible people who have not had a FTA.
    - 8th highest FG% to not get a FTA.

All this on top of the fact that he is the highest FGA to not get a FTA.

Quite frankly I don't know how it's possible unless Denver allowed him to get whatever points he wanted on every single one of the 40 attempts and 10 rebounds (7 of them defensive).

You're wrong on this one big time. He doesn't have better feet than zach, boozer, jefferson to name a few. I repsect your opinions even if they're way off. You give scola 8-9m and you will regret it in 2 yrs if not quicker. I do think he's a very effecient player and always have been a good rebounder, but he still is and will be a below avg defensive player who will continue to have problems against the longer, athletic 4's in the league.

Check out the boxscores on these games (Especially Yao's high game). It's a wonder just how untalented we were back then. When Richie Frahm is playing 20 minutes for your team, that's pretty bad. It's such a shame that we wasted T-mac and Yao's prime with such weak supporting casts.

That's the same thing that stood out to me from that list. How does a coach let Juwan Howard attempt 29 shots in a game?

Sorry, you must be incorrect; your research faulty. The Cronk, flagship as it is (see: SF lawsuit), is the newspaper of record (if not records). Thus, just 1* for you. ;)

Do you realize how durable Scola's body is?
Have you noticed that he hasn't missed ONE SINGLE GAME since arriving to NBA?

100% in regular season , 100% in playoff....is that easy to find so durable bodies in NBA?

Do you realize his game doesn't rely on athleticism (the first thing lost with age)? Rather based on very high BBIQ and hustle (something not lost with age)....

Do you realize that players with a so durable body and that style, could easly play at his prime until his mid/late 30's?

All I know is that it really really irritates me when Scola gets called for traveling during his Tazmanian Devil spin move. LEARN HOW TO WATCH A DAMN PIVOT REF!!!!

    Good points, all.

And the man is a synergistic component to this roster, on and off the court. Is Bosh better? yes - but, at what cost (in $s and players [SnY] and sense)?

Make me the happiest fan anywhere - let Lowry be CP3s back-up - in the Toy Shop (and I still love AB; but Paul? Ahhhh.).

Even OT had a 40 point game. I remember listening to it on the radio and going crazy. I was wondering why Bill didn't mention it after the game when trying to think of the last Rockets power forward with a 40 point game.

I haven't looked it up, but it's gotta be OT. I want to say it was in '91 or '92.
