So apparently he's trying to add the three pointer to his offense too He also answered one question about him leaving Houston, in case anyone's still interested: Full interview here (if you can read Spanish or care about Scola enough to give Google Translate a try). Not a very interesting read, anyway.
Six meter shot? What the hell is that? Metric system is for commies. But damn, I still wish we had Scola. I know we had to dump his contract, but I loved seeing him play.
People dont realize this but to some extent players like Scola are the ones who in some sense have the most talent. Because of the lack of hops and quickness hes as fundementaly sound as you can get.
This is why Scola is pretty much loved by Houston. For me every new season with Scola he brought something new to the table. Now he's adding the three to his game. What's not to love about him, hard working professional here. I hope he retires a Rocket after he leaves the Suns
It's so stupid that the Suns snatched him when they are going nowhere. He was my dream offseason acquisition for the Pacers when he got amnestied.
Actually Houston's front office asked him to add a 3pt shot over the offseason ... before amnesty of course
I think the Suns are asking him to shoot threes. When I first watched the Suns play this season, I was pretty surprised to see Scola shooting threes in the corner.
No one wants to bang in the post anymore. Forget about just the center position being weak or going away, the post game is going away! Let's try and take our game out to the three point line!
I hope this isn't his newest excuse for not bumpin it inside. His inside game got absolutely ugly as the years passed. When he first came here, he was actually really quick to turn. I've said it already but he became slow as molasses last year. He became a damn spot up mid-range shoot - a mediocre one considering that, even though he shot at a good clip, he couldn't really create it so he had to get it after his defender went to help. Guys who shoot the three also tend to be quick on their feet. Dirk and Stojakovic were pretty mobile. This just sounds like more excuse not to play the game he was brought in for (inside - that was the case here).
LOL. Yeah, I still don't know why the Americans are so stubborn on not using the metric system. Even the British people realized how dumb their own system was and dumped it.
