A situation is coming to mind earlier this season where Budinger got hit in the head under the basket and Courtney Lee started getting in the other guy's face who did that. Anyone recall this incident?

Maybe this would be a better thread title

Scola takes it from behind from Gay, ending with a Gay ejection.

If Bobby Sura and Jon Barry were still on this team, they'd be tearing someone up for that thuggish hit.

If you take Scola from behind, Scola is not gay, you are.

Yes I remember, and I was very happy someone stood up to that idiot Matt Barnes. Glad to have T-Will on board in that aspect; he'll definitely bring that 'in your face attitude' we need sometimes.

Agreed, he was calling out the foul. I am surprised and disappointed you are the first person to even say this.

"Scola Taken from Behind by Gay. No Protection" would have had a better flow.

Rudy probably thought Luis tripped and hit him on purpose, I think Clyde summed it pretty well.

I think you're assuming he can only state the physicality was unecessary by looking serious, but he can do it while still acting the way he did. He probably just told him to calm down, which not only helps him as a friend, but helps the rockets by keeping gay from doing it again. At the time it wasnt clear he was gone from the game yet, refs were still reviewing it.

Personally i just dont think this is the game to do it...like i said earlier, leave it for the real battles, which to me includes the playoffs or tough regular season games, just not blow outs against a team you hardly have a rivalry with.

That's what really annoyed me about the OP, more than anything, but forgot to mention it.

Lowry isn't telling the ref he flopped. He is pointing out that Scola got fouled...

looking at the video again, you've got battier focusing on his shot and martin, lowry, and hill all watching him shoot....Even the bench was looking at battier shooting and didn't react, neither did the coaching staff, so it's not surprising that in this specific case they wouldnt do anything because they didnt see it initially. They only ones pointing it out are a few front row fans..

this is a silly thread. There is a bigger picture to worry about, and this wasnt even that big a deal. The other team lost composure, but no punches, no fight, no brawl, and the Rockets were a class act and stayed tough and didnt react.

We were up by 20, had been almost all game, and we allowed the refs and the game to go into its legal motions so no one lost their cool, no chances of techs or suspensions, or allowing Memphis to "get a rise" out of anyone. What happens when people start acting emotionally is that people lose their cool - and if Memphis is allowed to get even one Rocket to lose a bit of control, then suddenly dominos start falling in their favor. A 20-pt lead becomes 15, then becomes 12, and 9 and so on...

Every Rocket did the right thing, and even in the Fisher incident they did the right thing. Try to get the refs attention, but get inbetween the players and dont allow things to escalate. Its not worth it. Emotion can lead to tight bonds and brotherhood, but these players arent going to hit more shots and play better defense because they "got each others backs." I understand the basic premise of the argument, but I think its overall logic is flawed. I think the OP and other few ppl are focusing in on these situations and saying how people should react emotionally, but theres a game going on and we need every pawn, bishop, rook and king/queen to not be taken out of the game based on quick, frustrated decision-making.

    oh, and knights ;)

btw, I think its a bit tougher to stand your ground respectfully, and not have anyone gang up in your defense. It could be a good and loyal bond, but heck, people in GANGS stand up for each other... doesnt mean they should be respected for doing it.

Lol at ppl saying Scola deserved it. Scola plays the game smart and tough and thats too much for some classless ppl to take in this case thats Rudy Gay. Scola is awesome.
