i for one believe that jared jeffries should be our #1 scoring option. RA needs to run some isolation plays for him, maybe have him shoot jumpers coming off some screens, get him on the low/high post to create for himself and teammates.

I kinda wish Scola was on a better team (for his sake). I hate seeing workhorses like him on mediocre teams.

its fine just the way it is. he's already a priority option, to have him at number one will not work for houston, bye.

You're assuming Yao will be healthy. Thats a pretty longshot these days.

He would if he touched the ball every time and started dropping 30 a night.

To be fair, none of our guys are true #1 options. Brooks, Martin, Scola and even Yao are better suited as #2 guys. But on this team, someone has to step up and be our goto guy.

I guess the Rockets could dump the ball into Scola in the low post and surround him with four shooters, like they did with Landry last season. I don't think Scola's as good a one-on-one scorer as Landry, though.

On a healthy team, I think Scola should be the fourth option or thereabouts.

Off topic, but I don't know why we don't try to run more pick-and-rolls or pick-and-pops down the stretch. I'd think both Scola and Miller are good enough scorers to make that possible.

Scola is a rare breed of player, a guy who can succeed as a role player or as a focal point.

Look at how many guys can not adjust as their skills change, Luis will have no problem.

He should be our low post option, and he has seen double teams for years in international ball, he will be able to handle it on the NBA level.

He is our best player right now.....the offense should go through him.

And I would support him on defense by playing Hill more to protect the rim.

Agree when yao and tmac were here tmac was the guy who could take the ball down the stretch. When we tried to force feed yao we spend 24 seconds just trying to get him the ball.

    That is easy to answer.

For the PnR to work, people have to fear the dribbler as a threat to score.

If you don't respect the dribblers game, just stick to the screener.

PnR won't work well with our lineup as constructed today.

Maybe not Lowry, but Martin maybe? He's got a pretty quick first step.

Not a very good dribbler, or passer.

Ish runs the PnR the best right now, but teams will eventually treat him like Kyle, which is to ignore him....and stick to the screener.

AB is not as good of a passer, but he is a very effective PnR guy, they have to honor him and the picker.

CBud could do it, but he is hurt, he has the skills necessary.

Not sure we have anyone else on the team that can run it effectively......

So, IMO, the only 2 that can run it are hurt...which......HURTS....

A cleverly disguised Lowry bashing post...

Joking aside, even with Brooks we still had this problem as far as I can see. How many blown end of quarter plays have we seen? If makes you wonder if the coach has any clue...

    Heh...

Unfortunatly, AB is also the answer to that, he has proven to be the only effective guy at the end of quarters, or tight games.....we got no one else that the defense has to honor on the perimeter as a triple threat.

Ish or Kyle could also do it, if they could get better at shooting, CBud or Kmart could, but they both need to improve their handles....JT could, but he needs to improve his passing, same as C. Lee.

We just have guys that are improving, or need improvement.....that is what happens when you have a young team.

....as long as he isn't taking tmac-esque pull up three point bombs with 23 secs left on the clock.

Yeah, Brooks would be the better option, but I was just thinking what the current roster could do to generate points. Martin and Miller seem to play off each other well, so maybe that could be incorporated somehow.

Anything better than playing hot potato for 20 seconds.
