I don't think anyone here was trying to say he's elite. It's more like he is becoming a great player in the league with only half a years experience as a pro. He brings great energy, can work the low post, and knows how to finish. I also see how fast people are quick to judge here. Donte Greene scores over 40 some people say the next Kobe. Aaron Brooks the next Iverson. I bet a lot of ya'll thought Cato was gonna be our star center. Anyway my point is take a little minute before you critique a man's play when he hasn't been playing more than half a season. After all he's the one in the NBA, we're not.
Scola is God, Rafer is fine for distribution only. He will jack up 3 pointers if he is forced to score. /thread
Its not a matter of just being critcal, its being realistic. He's not great, nor do I think he will be great. He's a good role player on a good team. He's 28, atheletically challenged, so he is what he is. That's not a knock, that's just the truth. He's kinda a finished product who can improve, but marginally. He can become more consistent from mid range and improve his free throw shooting, but neither will lift him to all star status unless the huge voting contingent votes him in over someone like AC Green did over mailman. That's who he plays like to me and his skillset. If anyone told you Scola would produce like the late 80s early 90s AC Green, I think mos peopl e would welcome that. That's not a knock.
When did i knock him. all i said that he is a borderline very good player. the people i listed above him are all very, very good established players. he may surpass them this year if he keeps improving.he's not better then brand, or kg or duncan. but thats no knock on him. he's a great player and were very lucky to have him.
Towards the end of the season man.....scola was awesome! In the Olympics he played awesome. Lets hope form like this can continue consistantly in the NBA season. So we can have the Big 4
