My point is, scola is AC Green and people on this board want to put him at a elite or near all star level and he's not. He's a solid hustle guy that can hit uncontested shots from mid range and every one in awhile can score inside. He struggles when he go inside against taller atheletic types because he's not long or explosive. So when he play against the camby, garnett types inside, which he will do, he struggles to finish. When you're a non explosive 4 like scola, u have to try to trick or out manuver guys inside 5ft, but when u know u can explode over guys, u just do it. Even a big guy like Yao who is non explosive, has trouble getting off the floor and shooting over certain guys. That's why at times u see him head faking and pump faking in the layup zone. Scola as our AC Green of the 80s is a very useful guy, but comparing him to a top 10 pf in the league is a mistake. For the money value, he's a bargain.
Agree. Scola is not in the top 10 at the 4, but he is very effective in our offense becuase of all the attention our stars get. He thrives in our system because of Yao and TMAC. He is a pro's pro and is a big piece to our team. He would be in every rotation in the league. Man, the more I think about our team, the more I believe that we have the presonel to do something really special. We are solid in all aspects of basketball other then staying durable. We have three superstars, and we have about 6 or 7 role players that would be in almost every rotation in the league. Everyone say's Rafer is are downfall but I think he is just fine. He won 22 in a row for us as our starting pg. He doesnt demand to shoot, he doesn't turn the ball over and he understands how to run our offense effeciently. He is not the best spot of shooter and he does not take the ball to the hole well, but at times he does well at both of thoughs aspects of the game. I hope Rafer is our starting pg this year, he is intuned to have his best season of his career. Book it. Man I can't wait until its fall.
Better PF's in no particular order Duncan KG Dirk Boozer Brand West Gasol Bosh Alridge Gooden Beasley Jefferson Amare Okafor K-MART when he's healthy Zac Randolph David lee On par with Wilcox Haslem Harrington Conclusion, he may not be a elite PF, but he's certianly a borderline top twenty.
Is very crappy. He's had just 1 year in the NBA and did pretty decent for a West playoff team, give him a break.
So saying he's borderline top twenty is bashing him?. oh yeah scola is elite. the best. you happy now. dear god.
It's amazing how some people barely figured out that Luis Scola is a beast. I mean come on, think about it. Last year was his first actually playin in the NBA and he adapted fast and well. He had a really hard time getting used to the foul calls that would go against him that usually don't get called in FIBA, EURO League, or around the World. Also he didn't even start the whole season last year. Somehow Chuck Hayes stayed in the starting lineup for more than half the season. Don't get me wrong Chuck's good at what he does, but he definitely isn't a starter. Pretty much as soon as he hit the starting lineup we started to get into a groove and roll to a 22 game winning streak. We definitely have more than just a solid starting 5, assuming Ron is in. I know we could use an upgrade at PG, but I'm pretty sure Rafer will do for now. In my opinion we have a team that can murder anyone, no pun intended Ronny, but we can hit you any way we want to and still could get a little help from our bench. WE THE BEST!!!!!!! In the words of DJ Khaled.

Scola's offensive game is the same as green. Both are play finishers, that hustle, run the floor, below the rim finishers, mid range shooting 4 guys. If either is a more than ur 4th best offensive player, u probably have offensive problems.
