Howard or not, it is going to tank for the next a few seasons.

re-building is fine, but i just hope the Rockets don't re-build the front office too. It would be bad to get as dumb as the wizards, bobcats, cavs, or kings.

No matter how bad the Rockets get they cannot out suck the Lastros. So they got that going for them.

This is better than the heartache of "just missing" the playoffs and ending up with the 14th pick. Besides, it's more fun when expectations are low.

I disagree. For me, the last three years were unbearable. I don't mind watching young guys develop. It will be exciting to me to see what Motiejunas, Lamb, White, Jones and our future rookies can develop into in the years to come (if we don't trade for Howard). But being stuck as a contender for a first round exit/best team to not make the playoffs? That's boring and pointless.

For the first time since I was 8 years old I quit watching Rockets games last season (I'm 35). But regardless of whether they obtain Howard or not, I'm excited to watch the team again this year.

I feel the same. Scola's talent with Phoenix will get them to the playoffs, but without another consistent option besides Gortat, they might just only make it to the 2nd round.

Morey must be slightly pissed that they seemed to have built at least half of the team he wanted to build down here over there with Dragic, Scola and Gortat.

If we do re-build. I don't think its going to be a long re-build ala Bobcats or Kings.

Our Young guys have they head's on straight. They also have high skill level's, so none of them are overwhelmingly raw. Most of the developing our young guys have to do will come physcally (Lamb and Motiejunas) or mentally (Jones and White).

IMO If we can get our hand's on either C. Zeller or Noel in the next draft I think we'd be set in terms of a nucleus, a core if you will, so we can start adding some veteran pieces around them.

God I miss Scola. He deserves more than Pheonix. Too much of a good sport to not have a chance at a championship

It seems like we can't tank because we are better than the bobcats and a couple more teams at least already so next year: no shabbazz, no nerlens Noel, no star. This seems like an easy way to tell scola they are releasing him.

"don't think they're going to be doing nothing"? sounds like double-negative trickery by morey, preying on scola's english language deficiencies.

I miss Scola. I miss him bad.

Seeing him in another jersey is going to make me sick.

Exactly, my dream scenario. Howard, wink, wink, rehabs almost the whole year. We win 15 games, but show improvement as the season goes on. Dwight returns for a few victories at the end of the season. Dwight resigns because he can see the young guys have talent and he is ecited about playing with the number one selection in next year's draft.

Are you kidding me? Linsanity, J Lamb, and RoyceWhite are all going to be boring? It will be fun watching our young athletic players develop together and anything but boring.

I would rather have a few years of legitimate rebuilding than another few years of treading water for an 8th seed and winding up with the 14th pick.

I feel the same way. I only watched a couple of games last year. Never saw a full game.

Lost my interest. Stuck in limbo....

Now I'm excited to watch them rebuild.

Same here. I've religiously watched every Rockets game since the 7th grade (I'm about to be a junior in college), but last season, I just completely lost the incentive to watch the games.

As much as I love the team, the product that we put out over the past 3 seasons has been-simply put-BORING.
