    2015
    Rondo -unrestricted
    Aldridge -unrestricted
    Love -ETO
    Marc Gasol -unrestricted

also, if we do pull off a trade with orlando, we'll likely have to take back some bad contracts. Guess who else comes off the books (free agent) in 2015:
    Glen Davis $6.6mil & Jason Richardson $6.6mil

Assuming he's correct and accurate in what he was told...that's the very definition of "tanking" that I've meant when I've used that term over the last couple of seasons. Losing is merely a byproduct, albeit a helpful one come draft day.

Completely agree. I had lost interest in the Rockets for the first time this last year. Pretty much new exactly how the season would play out and if we didn't make changes then we would be looking at the same thing next season. I'm excited to watch the team develop this year. Hopefully Martin will start off hot and we can trade him for good value during the season. After that it is all about the young guys. They will have ups and downs and the record will not be very good, but hopefully they will be improving and we can land some high picks the next few years. If we don't, that means these guys would be producing at a higher level than expected in their first year.

do NOT feel sorry for basketball players, especially Scola. He's played basketball his whole life and gets paid millions to do so. He's a proven professional and he swats the pettiness of basketball to the side.

now if that statement was to cut the Rockets, well, that's your opinion.

Jones/Lamb are near ready to play - some bulking up and work on defense aside - they should get significant minutes off the bench. Same for D-Mo. If they get significant PT, the rooks won't need 3-4 years (maybe 1 or 2) to come into their own.

    LOLZA

The way he explained what he has been told, can be translated into 10 other things. I wouldn't read much into it.

Not that I don't doubt we will be nothing for 3-4 years; do you not think that this was just good rhetoric for letting him go?

He is seemingly such a nice guy that loved being here...the "go to a team where you can win" method seems like a good justification to pair with you'll get all the amnesty money on top of your new contract.

Scola should ask to get traded Miami or LA.

sucks... I would rather have them be competitive and try to get star players then to tank but thats what it looks like not going to be fun watching Rockets play but I will still watch to see if we get lucky in any games ..lol :(

Morey: "We may not be very good for the next 3-4 years."

Scola: "They will be nothing the next 3-4 years."

Sounds about right, assuming the miss out on DH and Bynum, which Morey has to account for. Probably gave Scola worst case scenario.

Finally, a direction. Thinking back, it should've been obvious after letting Scola leave over Martin. Wish he could've gone to a winner though. Phoenix will now be the 4-5 seed that gets bounced in the first round.
