And the 2nd deal is just a contract renewal with China's Founder Group for advertisement/signboards in Toyota Centre. Founder Group was one of the very first Chinese enterprises that sponsored Houston Rockets ever since November 2005.

This should attract free agents to the Rockets.

i just saw a battier commercial for "Peak" shoes (i'm in china for business). what other team besides the rockets can a non allstar get a multimillion dollar endorsment deal for having a 8.6pt 3rb adv?

we should use this to attract role players for cheap... though, the girls here do think battier is handsome.

Well, the signing ceremony with Founder Group was the headline in 163.com for a short while, but then taken away.

Most probably, they have to rewrite that news release, as the beginning paragraph said: Founder Group signed contract with Houston Rockets at Toyota Centre on November 8, 2007.

And November 8, 2007 has not arrived !!

So that's Shane, Steve, Hayes, and now Scola with Chinese endorsements?

At least I think Hayes has some sort of deal. Anybody else?

Well how many Chinese enterprises and products do you guys know are there in Toyota Centre in various forms of signage, advertisment, sponsorships etc?

The answer is 22 dated December 2006.

Now it could be even higher !!!

    Clutch,

Does that mean that ANYONE who dares to start a "Yao for..." -- or any other thread remotely suggesting trading Yao, even if the entire Dream Team is involved -- will be banned from the site?

    Please say yes...

If you join him (Yao), shoe deals will come.

Rick Adelman's chinese shoe deal was a key factor in his decision to coach the Rockets this season.

Maybe we could trade Yao for a 6'11" dude who's half Indian and half Indonesian.

Team Yao should be pushing hard for a cut of the money the other players make. These are deals by association.

Hopefully some of the other smart players in the league will want to come here for the extra deal money alone.

That won't work cuz you may only get half Indian and half Indonesian support him. You did the "+" and the "/", a "F" on the transcript.

Hear ya. But I think Clutch is not telling you how to feel about Yao. He is saying the idea of trading Yao probably wouldnt fly, and thus dont even mention it. But you certainly are entilted to how you think, start a thread and get an automatic lock.
