I agree. Some games, we will need Scola more than Pat, and vice-versa. ;)

I think Scola is a bargain for his production. Look at Zbos contract ha.

We have both. They are both great for this team. I'm glad they are both Rockets.

    Both.

This thread is ****ing stupid. I love the hell outta both Scola and PatPat, but they both bring different things to the table. Scola is a proven international star who can be a go to scorer, and he hustles 24/7 when not hurting. PatPat is a rookie with tremendous upside. Luis gets the start for a long time coming.
WHY CAN'T WE ENJOY JUST HAVING 2 QUALITY PLAYERS AT THE SAME POSITION FOR ONCE? Why does Clutchfans always turn into a breeding ground for "X vs. Y" at "Z position" and "Trade X NOW" threads? Is our fan base really becoming that...MORONIC?

    Agreed.

People need to see how good we are at 4 position... Scola & Patterson combo is nice. Now we will trade one to have a decent 4th position guy? Come on... these guys are cheap too. Scola's contract is allright.. go look at Kirilenko's to see how ugly contracts can get.

Scola is bargain for what we pay him.

Just get a damn good tall beast center and that's all. Scola/Lowry/Martin/Lee/Patterson/Hayes are all non-tradables...

Prior to this great 3 game stretch he was averaging 7.7 reb per 36 min, which is hardly a great number.

The knee jerk nature of this forum is astounding, i love what he's doing, and hope its a sign of great things to come, but I'm fine with him playing the role landry did in 08-09 (22 MPG off the bench). If he continues to show this recent production maybe we can talk, but it's only been 3 freakin games.

Give Scola some respect I'll take 4 years over 3 games any day of the week.

I would offer miller and scola for Kaman. That way patterson can start, hill the backup, stay in playoff contention and when Howard demands a trade, the rockets can offer kaman, hill or thabeet and picks for him. They should also sign thadeus young.

Remember, when Luis first started, it led us to 22.

Both. Scola can play some Center.

3 Big man rotation. Hayes, Scola Ppat.

Remember how good the Scolandry combination was.

    Scolatterson will be good.

Use Hill as your back up is any big man get in foul trouble. Use miller if the offense is not running well.

    WOW!
-this is a shocker now I was right wanting to trade Scola before the trade deadline?
-"Scola is a warrior" he doesn't want to be "Brooksed"

    -Scola is not damged goods...
-Patterson played the 5 @ KU...
-IF we keep both Hayes ( or JHill the money is not wright ) off the bench at 4/5 shorting the rotation would be nice and make sence...

    Give time, time

I wasn't taking this thread as who should start.
But rather which player the team looks better with.

    2Pat is beasting right now.

But we still love us some Scola too.

Millsap is better than Scola and every single GM in the league would trade Scola for Millsap straight up. Millsap is the more efficient scorer and actually plays both ends of the court, whereas Scola regularly gets clowned hard anytime he has to guard an athletic PF. That, plus as you said Millsap is the younger player now entering his prime (with significant improvement every year), whereas Scola has peaked and is on the downside of his career.

Millsap is definitely the more valuable player, yet is getting 8mm per year, whereas Scola is getting 9.33mm per year over the first three. There are worse contracts than Scola's, but Scola's is still bad. The season after next one, his salary is going to outpace his declining production and he'll be hard to move.
